Job Description

We are looking for a software QA engineer to strengthen our QA team, to develop and execute both manual and automated tests, making sure that the software and hardware we are developing are top quality.

QA plays an important role in our R&D process. Whether we work on core features of our own platform or we develop various integrations to other systems, QA is involved in decision-making from the very start of the whole process. For the sake of that, we value both analytical and creative thinking and we do not see them as two different sides of the spectrum. Can you convey both?

Basic responsibilities of QA engineer in Home Control include:

  • Review and analyze feature specifications;
  • Test case development;
  • Conducting tests;
  • Compiling meaningful bug reports;
  • Continuous improvement of Home Control product and QA process.

Some mandatory skills and knowledge are expected from QA engineer and those include:

  • Understanding SDLC and Agile development methodology;
  • Familiarity with QA testing methodologies, including both functional and non-functional testing methods;
  • Understanding and experience in manual testing, UI/UX testing, smoke testing, regression testing;
  • Programming basics for test automation in some of the programming languages: Python, Go, JS, C++, or any other;
  • At least mid-level Linux usage.

High work ethics and organizational skills:

  • Experience in making test plans;
  • Experience in making test cases and scenarios;
  • Executing work in a repeatable and systematic way.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in using test management tools;
  • Reading/creating UML diagrams;
  • Using Wireshark;
  • Good communication skills.
