Job Description

We're looking for a QA Lead to join Gameloft Australia, based in Brisbane. Working closely with the QA Director, you'll help coordinate the day-to-day activities of the QA team across multiple projects. You'll be responsible for managing priorities, delegating tasks, tracking QA deliverables and acting as a key link between QA, Development and other studio teams. This role is ideal for an experienced QA professional looking to take the next step into leadership, combining strong QA knowledge with project coordination, communication and team development.

What it means on a daily basis

  • Coordinate QA activities, priorities and deliverables across multiple projects and milestones.
  • Delegate and track QA tasks based on project priorities, timelines and team capacity.
  • Act as a key link between QA and Development, helping communicate bugs, priorities, requirements and project risks.
  • Monitor QA progress and provide clear updates on testing, critical issues, blockers and delivery risks.
  • Coordinate with external QA teams to ensure testing activities align with project requirements and schedules.
  • Maintain bug tracking, QA plans, test documentation and supporting processes across projects.
  • Support the QA Director with team management, mentoring, performance development and day-to-day team coordination.
  • Identify opportunities to improve QA workflows, communication and team efficiency.
  • Help ensure QA is effectively integrated into the wider game development and production process.


What success will look like

Success in this role means keeping QA organised, proactive and aligned with the wider development process across multiple projects. The successful candidate will effectively manage priorities and deliverables, ensure critical issues and risks are clearly communicated, coordinate internal and external testing, and support the QA team through mentoring and day-to-day leadership. They will also contribute to improving QA processes and help ensure the team consistently delivers thorough, timely testing that supports successful project milestones and releases.

    What you need to succeed

    • Demonstrated professional experience in Quality Assurance, preferably within the video game industry.
    • 5+ years’ experience progressing through QA roles, with a strong understanding of the QA lifecycle and what is required at junior, mid and senior levels.
    • 2+ years’ experience taking on leadership, coordination or mentoring responsibilities within a QA team.
    • Experience coordinating QA activities across projects, milestones or releases.
    • Strong understanding of Agile development and software/game development processes.
    • Experience managing and prioritising tasks across multiple projects or workstreams.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate issues between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Experience working closely with Development, Production and other interdisciplinary teams.
    • Experience with project management and task-tracking tools such as Jira, Hansoft or similar.
    • Experience managing and prioritising bugs, including understanding severity, priority and release impact.
    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and changing deadlines.
    • Ability to identify risks, blockers and resourcing concerns and escalate them appropriately.
    • A proactive approach to problem solving and communication.
    • Passion for games and a genuine interest in the video game industry.


    Desirable:

    • Previous experience in a QA Lead, QA Coordinator, Senior QA or similar leadership role.
    • Experience coordinating internal QA teams.
    • Experience working across multiple platforms and release cycles.
    • Familiarity with First Party Submission requirements across platforms such as PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Apple or similar.
    • Experience with live service games or ongoing content releases.
    • Experience with QA tools, test management systems or automation.
    • Experience with programming or scripting languages such as C++, C#, Python or similar.
    • Formal project management or Agile certification.
    • Experience working with game development tools such as Unreal Engine, Unity, Perforce or similar.
