Team/ Division Overview
The Client Coverage Division (CCD) is DWS’ core client-facing function, responsible for marketing the firm’s global capabilities across Active, Passive, and Alternative investments to institutional investors and distribution partners. The CCD Hong Kong & China team serves a diverse client base across Hong Kong, Macau, and the Chinese Mainland, including institutional clients such as sovereign entities, central banks, insurance companies, asset managers, pension providers, corporates, as well as intermediaries such as private banks and securities firms.

Role Details
As a Coverage Specialist, Hong Kong & Mainland China you will be responsible for:

  • Develop business with Hong Kong investors, focusing on institutional clients such as insurers, central banks, endowments / non-profit organizations, corporates, and the Hong Kong subsidiaries of international and Mainland Chinese institutions
  • Selectively pursue cross-border opportunities with eligible institutional investors in the Chinese Mainland and Macau
  • Increase DWS’s market share through strategic account planning, targeted business initiatives, and partnership opportunities
  • Build a strong understanding of DWS’s global Active, Passive, and Alternatives capabilities and position relevant solutions effectively with clients
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of marketing materials for client pitches
  • Support client administration, including client classification, due diligence, onboarding, and KYC requirements
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to strengthen the capabilities, infrastructure, and processes needed to serve Hong Kong clients effectively
  • Understand and comply with all applicable legal, regulatory, and group policy requirements

We are looking for 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant qualification or work experience
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in Hong Kong’s asset management industry, with established relationships among Hong Kong institutional investors; experience working with institutional investors in the Chinese Mainland—particularly sovereign investors and insurance companies—and Macau is an advantage
  • Commercial acumen and a demonstrated ability to drive business growth
  • Strong understanding of Hong Kong institutional investors’ investment needs, regulatory constraints, and operational requirements
  • Experience in client onboarding, due diligence, and KYC processes
  • Excellent organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships across teams and stakeholder groups
  • Ability to use, evaluate, and integrate artificial intelligence effectively into daily work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
