Purpose
Deliver exceptional sales and business performance by acquiring, developing and maintaining highly proactive, long term client relationships. Protect Barclays reputation through sound risk decisions by managing client group within their risk profile and appropriate regulatory framework.
Accountabilities
Manage and grow client relationships and acquire new clients - identifying and managing solutions to meet a wide range of client needs
Establish a sound understanding of the strategy of the clients in their portfolio through regular proactive contact, responding to client / prospect queries and requests and identifying opportunities that will deliver long term commercial reward
Manage operational, reputational, financial crime and credit risk for the portfolio to avoid exposing Barclays to undue risk
Ensure all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards
Service/group relationships - referrals to group colleagues

Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.

In this client-facing role, you will work with an existing portfolio of clients, developing an understanding of their priorities and day-to-day needs while identifying opportunities to provide additional support. You will work closely with colleagues across the bank, contribute to business development activity, attend client and networking events, engage with prospective clients, and help grow client relationships. You will also play an important role in supporting risk, control, and governance activities. To be successful as a Corporate Relationship Manager, you should have experience with:
- Building and developing client relationships within a corporate, commercial, or financial services environment
- Understanding client needs and providing solutions that support their requirements
- Risk awareness and the ability to identify and address financial, operational, and regulatory considerations
- Communicating information clearly to a range of stakeholders
- Influencing outcomes through collaboration, relationship building, and stakeholder engagement
- Reviewing financial information and business data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for support
Some other highly valued skills may include:
- Knowledge of corporate banking, lending, or credit risk principles
- Awareness of market trends, industry developments, and the regulatory environment
- Experience supporting business development activities and identifying opportunities for growth
- Building relationships with prospective clients through networking and client engagement
- Analytical and problem-solving skills using a range of information sources
