Job Description

Position Overview

You'll join the Product & Ops team, which includes a Product team (Product Managers and Product Designers) and an Ops team (CSM, RevOps and Sales Enablement). You will own the platform brokers use to sell and manage Stoïk's cyber insurance. That covers the whole product lifecycle, from user research and discovery to on-time delivery.

This is a regulated product. Almost every change touches policy wordings, carrier requirements or local insurance law, in 7 markets and 5 languages. Here, rigor matters as much as speed.

  • Our Tech team is organized in tribes. You will join the Distribution tribe, which builds the platforms through which Stoïk products are sold and managed:

    • Insurance Distribution Squad (your squad): gives brokers a back-office platform for the full insurance lifecycle: cyber risk evaluation and questionnaire, quoting and guarantee customization, policy documents, amendments and renewals. The squad also owns:

      • Wording releases: regular updates to our insurance policies (wordings, side letters, IPIDs) across France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain and Luxembourg, from carrier approval to go-live. For example, the Q3 release covers 11 sets of wordings in 5 languages.

      • Broker wordings: tailored wordings negotiated with large brokers and wholesalers, each with its own coverage, pricing and rollout rules.

      • Partner integrations: the API that quoting partners and comparison platforms use to price and sell our insurance.

    • Cyber Distribution Squad: distributes our cybersecurity products (Stoïk Protect, MDR, Email Security) beyond the insurance contract, through the MSP Platform, the CPQ and our Managed Services offers.

    • Platform Squad: provides the shared foundations (accounts, billing, invoicing) that all distribution apps use.

  • The squad is currently led by Sarah Faber, who will hand over the scope and support your onboarding.

  • Within the squad, you'll work with:

    • 1 Lead Software Engineer and 4 Software Engineers

    • 1 Product Designer

  • You will also work closely with the other Product Managers of the Distribution tribe, the Insurance team (Underwriting, Pricing, Claims) and the Legal team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Discovery

    • Build a deep understanding of brokers, underwriters and country teams through qualitative and quantitative research

    • Turn insurance and legal requirements (policy wordings, carrier rules, local regulation) into precise, testable specs, validated by Legal and Insurance before development starts

    • Frame problems clearly and define success criteria before development starts

    • Work with the Lead Product Engineer on pragmatic, scalable solutions to complex topics: pricing rules, policy document generation, versioning of wordings and questionnaires, renewal automation

    • Tools: Notion, Figma, Metabase, PostHog, HubSpot

  • Wording Releases

    • Own the product side of our wording releases in every market and language, from specs to go-live

    • Run each release as a cross-functional taskforce with Legal, Insurance and engineering: one source of truth for specs, clear owners, release blockers identified early

    • Build the release plan around carrier approval: nothing goes live before the carriers' final go

    • Make sure every contractual document is exactly right, including policy templates, side letters, IPIDs and broker wordings, along with the rollout rules (new business vs. renewals, migration of existing clients, premium impact)

    • Set up a thorough QA process that also catches errors in languages you don't speak

    • Plan internal enablement and external communication (country teams, brokers, quoting partners, API documentation) ahead of each release

  • Delivery

    • Own delivery timelines by planning, running and protecting weekly sprints

    • Run efficient sprint plannings and kick-offs:

      • Tickets are clear, scoped and reviewed ahead of time

      • The Lead Product Engineer has room for proper technical review

      • No surprises or last-minute discoveries during the sprint

    • Balance run (bugs and requests from Broker Success Managers and underwriters, renewal peaks) with build, and keep commitments realistic

    • Communicate clearly with stakeholders on releases and progress

    • Tools: Linear, Slack, GitBook

  • Roadmap

    • Define and maintain the squad roadmap across the insurance lifecycle (quoting, guarantees, amendments, renewals, partner integrations), prioritizing by business impact and stakeholder value

    • Sequence releases around the commercial and regulatory calendar of each market: wording releases, carrier changes, renewal seasons, local specificities

    • Build and maintain a shortlist of Metabase dashboards tracking adoption, conversion and GWP impact of our features

  • Stakeholder Management

    • Be the trusted product counterpart of our Country Managers, the senior leaders who run each market. Run regular product reviews with them, arbitrate between competing market requests, and say no with clear reasoning when needed

    • Work hand in hand with Legal on every change that touches a contract, a policy document or a pricing rule

    • Reconcile what underwriting, pricing and carriers require with what the product can do

    • Make sure Broker Success Managers and sales teams are enabled before every release

    • Communicate clearly and transparently, mostly in writing, on vision, progress, trade-offs and risks

    • Key stakeholders: Country Managers, Broker Success Managers, Underwriting, Pricing, Claims, Legal and Finance (internal); brokers and quoting partners (external); carriers, through our Insurance team

Qualifications

  • Proven track record as a Product Manager, preferably in a fast-growing startup or scale-up

  • Experience in insurance, insurtech, fintech or another regulated B2B product is a significant advantage. You are comfortable reading contracts and working with lawyers.

  • Extremely rigorous: you write precise specs, love detail and never let an error slip into a contractual document

  • Strong stakeholder management with senior profiles: you build trust with General Managers and hold your ground with clear arguments

  • Fluent in French and English

  • Working proficiency in German is a strong advantage, as it is our second biggest market
