Job Description

Fibertide employs engineers with strong mathematical and computer science backgrounds. We design, build and optimize cloud infrastructure for high-growth startups and scaleups from the U.S. and Europe.

If you have experience building cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, or optimizing complex software, backed by fundamentals in mathematics and theoretical computer science, let's talk!

With us, you will be…

  • implementing cloud-based infrastructure for complex, large-scale systems and developing specialized data-processing software,
  • advising our customers and their development teams on cloud-native solutions and developing in-house utilities for managing cloud systems,
  • providing (together with our Cloud Architects) technical and business guidance within projects, managing client relationships,
  • solving unconventional technical challenges that nobody else can tackle.

We offer...

  • remote work and flexible working hours,
  • a private healthcare and insurance package,
  • 130-170 PLN B2B net per hour (or contract of mandate equivalent), depending on your skills,
  • a team that is as comfortable with kernel internals and cloud infrastructure as with TSP approximations or competitive programming tasks.

We expect that you...

  • have at least 4 years of experience designing, implementing, and upkeeping cloud-based systems for web applications, data pipelines, or other services,
  • have deep experience with AWS or GCP and their best practices,
  • are experienced with the Infrastructure as Code paradigm (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, etc.),
  • will impress us with your programming skills, regardless of the choice of technology,
  • feel an urge to stay up-to-date with the newest cloud trends and can learn new tools and technologies very quickly,
  • are proficient in maths, theoretical computer science, and the practical aspects of advanced algorithms,
  • are deeply familiar with software optimization, networking concepts, and operating systems fundamentals,
  • have great communication skills (including English and Polish at a C1+ level),
  • can or are willing to learn how to lead a small team, organizing their work and priorities to match a client’s business expectations.

Bonus points if you...

  • have detailed knowledge of cloud service providers other than AWS and GCP,
  • have a track record in competitive programming, computer science, maths, or physics olympiads,
  • hold a degree in theoretical computer science.
