Team (Project) Introduction
9th Way Insignia is seeking a Test Engineer for manual testing of Power App, Visual Studio, .NET-based test frameworks in support of the to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information and Technology (OIT) Compliance, Risk and Remediation (CRR)) service line under the Process, Records and Knowledge Solutions program. The candidate will be capable of participating in exploratory and functional manual testing. This role requires technical knowledge, problem solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams.

Responsibilities:
Manual Testing
- Perform functional, regression, exploratory, and smoke testing to validate system behavior.
- Review requirement documentation and develop clear test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Identify gaps in requirements and test coverage; provide recommendations for improvement.
- Validate complex user flows and edge cases that are not ideal for automation.
Collaboration and Leadership
- Work within Agile/Scrum teams to ensure high-quality product releases.
- Participate in sprint planning, story refinement, and defect triage meetings.
- Communicate test progress, risks, and quality insights to stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science or a related field
- Knowledge of software testing with ability to become proficient in Visual Studio, C#, .NET-based applications
- Working knowledge of Power Apps
- Knowledge of version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile principles.
- Ability to perform manual testing with attention to detail, solid documentation skills, and strong analytical thinking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem solving and debugging abilities.
- Ability to work independently and lead testing efforts.
- Collaborative mindset with a passion for improving product quality.
Preferred/Desired:
- Proficiency in API testing using tools like Postman, RestSharp, or similar libraries.
- Performance testing experience (JMeter, or similar).
- Experience with automation tools such as:
- Selenium WebDriver
- BDD frameworks
- NUnit
- Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments.
