WHY SPEKTR

At spektr, we are on a mission to automate the world's most complex compliance workflows through AI. Founded by the team behind HelloFlow (acquired by Trulioo), spektr is building the infrastructure and AI agents to run compliance on scale.

Most large financial companies rely on thousands of employees to keep up with manually handling compliance. With spektr's AI agents, we have the opportunity to change that and completely redefine how compliance operates.

This is a rare opportunity to join spektr at the moment of take-off. We have a proven product, already used by some of the largest and fastest-moving financial companies like Santander, Pleo, Phantom, and many more. We recently closed a $20M Series A led by NEA, backed by existing investors Northzone, Seedcamp and PSV. We are scaling incredibly fast and changing the way compliance works in real time. The work is ambitious, the bar is high, and the opportunity for personal and professional growth is huge.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Platform team and help us scale infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability across our growing backend ecosystem.

You will work alongside our senior platform engineers on our Kubernetes-native stack, taking ownership of real infrastructure from early on. This is a role where you'll learn by building: our environment is modern and opinionated, and you'll be running production infrastructure for financial institutions, not sandbox projects.

We are looking for someone who is genuinely curious about how systems work, comfortable being new to things, and eager to grow fast in a high-bar environment.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Infrastructure as Code: Build and maintain our AWS infrastructure using Terraform/Terragrunt, starting with well-scoped modules and growing into larger architectural work.
  • Kubernetes Operations: Support our EKS clusters and a rapidly growing microservices environment (NestJS backend), handling deployments, troubleshooting, and day-to-day cluster health.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Build and improve pipelines with GitHub Actions in a trunk-based development environment, so deployments stay safe and fast.
  • GitOps: Work with ArgoCD-driven workflows and learn to own them end to end.
  • Observability: Contribute to monitoring, alerting, and dashboards, helping us catch problems before customers do.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with backend engineers and security stakeholders, applying cloud security best practices with AWS-native tooling.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • The Scale-up Mindset: You thrive in fast-moving environments and prefer building systems over following manuals.
  • High-Agency Learner: You dig into problems you haven't seen before instead of waiting to be shown. You ask good questions and you don't ask the same one twice.
  • Foundations: 1–3 years in DevOps, SRE, Platform, or backend engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Cloud & Containers: Working knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes. You don't need to be an expert yet, but you should be comfortable navigating both and understand what's happening underneath.
  • Automation Instinct: Hands-on experience with Terraform or another IaC tool, and a preference for scripting something over doing it twice by hand.
  • CI/CD Familiarity: You've worked with pipelines before, ideally GitHub Actions, and understand why deployment safety matters.
  • Scripting & Systems: Comfortable with Linux, Git, and at least one scripting language (Bash, Python, or similar).
  • Communication: You can explain what broke and why to an engineer who wasn't there.

OUR TECH INTERESTS

  • Cloud & Orchestration: AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Helm
  • IaC: Terraform, Terragrunt
  • CI/CD & GitOps: GitHub/Gitlab, ArgoCD
  • Observability: DataDog
