Role Overview
We are looking for a Principal Analytics Consultant who specializes in Sigma to help our customers gain tangible value from their data.
In this role, you will lead end-to-end analytics engagements and build scalable Sigma solutions that help clients realize measurable business value. You will collaborate closely with client stakeholders, internal delivery teams, and account leaders to translate business needs into intuitive, actionable analytics products. You will help shape how clients use Sigma and modern data platforms to drive better decisions, improve analytics adoption, and establish sustainable ways of working with data.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end analytics workstreams, owning planning, requirements, prototyping, development, testing, deployment, and adoption for Sigma solutions.
- Own the technical approach, backlog, and sequencing of work to deliver high-quality, scalable analytics solutions aligned to each client’s business context and data environment.
- Facilitate client working sessions to clarify ambiguous business needs, define analytical requirements, align stakeholders on priorities and risks, and drive decisions.
- Design and develop Sigma workbooks, dashboards, governed datasets, and self-service analytics experiences that enable business users to explore and act on data.
- Apply strong SQL, data modeling, and data visualization practices to connect Sigma solutions to cloud data warehouses, data marts, and analytical data structures.
- Establish quality standards for analytics deliverables, reviewing solutions for technical quality, usability, performance, scalability, and alignment to best practices.
- Recommend governance, security, access, workspace, and operating-model practices that support enterprise-scale Sigma adoption.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize data models, workbooks, reports, platform configurations, and deployment issues when required.
- Manage client expectations through clear status reporting, proactive communication, feedback loops, and transparent escalation of risks and dependencies.
- Partner with account and practice leaders to identify new use cases, extension opportunities, and reusable accelerators that deepen client value and support growth of the Analytics practice.
- Lead or mentor consultants and contribute to staffing, utilization, delivery planning, workstream budgets, and overall project performance.
- Support backlog development and ongoing enhancement of analytics solutions after initial implementation.
About You
You are a client-focused analytics practitioner who enjoys leading delivery, solving complex data problems, and creating practical, well-designed solutions. You bring strong technical judgment, executive presence, and the ability to move comfortably between business strategy, analytics architecture, hands-on development, and team leadership.
You are comfortable operating in distributed, global teams and partnering with colleagues and clients across time zones.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 7+ years of relevant experience delivering data analytics, business intelligence, or data visualization solutions in an enterprise environment.
- 3+ years of external consulting experience, including ownership of client-facing analytics projects or workstreams from kickoff through completion.
Technical / Functional Skills
- Demonstrated expertise designing and delivering analytics solutions with Sigma, including workbook development, data exploration, visualization, and self-service analytics experiences.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with cloud data warehouses, data marts, semantic models, and analytical data structures; Snowflake experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, metric definition, visualization design, performance optimization, and analytics architecture.
- Experience establishing or operating Sigma governance practices, including access management, security, workspace organization, deployment practices, and platform administration.
- Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous business needs into clear analytical requirements and communicate recommendations, tradeoffs, and risks to technical and business stakeholders.
- Exceptional customer-facing communication, facilitation, project management, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for learning and mastering new technologies, techniques, and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications help candidates stand out but are not required for success in this role.
- Experience scaling Sigma across an enterprise, including governance, adoption, operating models, performance, and platform optimization.
- Experience leading teams of consultants and contributing to utilization planning, staffing plans, workstream-level budget management, and project delivery.
- Experience with data preparation and transformation using Alteryx, KNIME, Matillion, Dataiku, Coalesce, or similar tools.
- Experience with Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI, Power Platform, or other modern data and analytics platforms.
- Experience developing reusable analytics accelerators, frameworks, templates, enablement materials, or internal points of view.
- Experience contributing to solution estimates, proposals, discovery activities, and the growth of a consulting practice.
