Job Description

Position Title: AI & Automations Associate Reports to: Principal Product Manager (for product direction, priorities and outcomes) Works within: the Technology function, with a dotted line to an Engineering/Platform lead for technical standards, code review, security and deployment Location: UK, Remote Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent About BibliU BibliU is an award-winning, technology-led B2B company transforming the $65bn educational content industry. With a 90% CAGR the past 5 years, we are just getting started. We've cracked the code on Day 1 access to affordable digital course materials for students, while delivering comprehensive campus store solutions that foster human relationships, and increase our stickiness in the world of AI. The result? Measurable impact: 10% higher student retention, 1-point GPA increases, and partnerships with 170 universities serving 600,000 students each year. We've fundamentally changed how universities procure, distribute, and manage learning content. We partner with 4,000+ publishers, including Pearson, Oxford University Press, and Wiley to deliver content to universities, and provide rich engagement data and interactive tools like quizzes that help students actually learn. Here's what makes our story compelling: Founded in late 2015 as an Oxford University spin out, we've grown explosively with 90% CAGR over the last five years, including 65% in FY25, reaching $100m in annual revenue. Our Series B raised $23m led by Nesta Impact Investments (with Guinness Asset Management, Stonehage Fleming, and Oxford Sciences Enterprises). In late 2023, we acquired Texas Book Company (now ' BibliU Campus') to become the only fully vertically integrated player in the market, driving US organic growth which now represents 90% of our business. We're hungry for more. We're actively building our M&A pipeline as we compete head-to-head against legacy bricks-and-mortar providers to improve the faculty and student experience while boosting the financial sustainability of universities. Our culture is collaborative, high-growth, and agile. You’ll join an experienced and motivated executive team with backgrounds from Instructure (Canvas) and other successful edtech companies with exit experience. We operate as a distributed team across the UK and US, with offices in London. Position Overview This is a brand new hire! We are looking for someone who will be tasked with building software automations to help teams at BibliU reduce their manual work & improve their productivity. This will include both integrating best-in-class software, AI workflows, as well as building custom software. This person will embed themselves into our teams that then use these automations, while being part of the product and technology functions. This structure is intended to ensure this role remains close to teams that will make use of their work, so they can deeply understand their context and requirements, with the central function driving best practice, professional development and support. This role sits deliberately across product and engineering, with support from both teams: the Principal Product Manager provides line management and supports product craft excellence, while an Engineering manager provides feedback on build quality (code quality, security, deployment and maintainability) and supports the person's technical growth. We would expect the successful person to use significant amounts of AI to build custom software - given the significant productivity benefits AI brings to software development. The ideal candidate will have experience using AI to plan, build, test and deploy software, and be able to share specific examples of projects they have developed. We would also expect the successful candidate to exhibit strong product thinking - and be confident talking to users to understand their requirements, developing user experiences that are intuitive and easy to learn and understand, and critically assessing their work to seek opportunity for continuous improvement. Must have: Bachelor’s or Master's degree; Proficient building full-stack software applications used in production; Proficient in using agentic development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor); Strong product thinking: confident talking to users, framing problems, prioritising, and designing intuitive experiences (not just building to spec). A habit of critically assessing your own work and looking for the next improvement. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Good to have: Interest in higher education industry; Interest in teaching others how to use more AI. Comfort working across product and engineering rather than in one lane. Benefits Our benefits are all aimed at supporting a healthy work-life balance and cultivating a company culture where you can bring your whole, human self to work. Here's what we offer: 🌴 35 days holiday per year (excluding public holidays!) - yep, that’s not a typo! 🎂 Your birthday off
