This role is accountable for managing strategic technology vendor management across the Technology organisation, with responsibility for vendor governance, commercial oversight, service performance and value realisation. It ensures that key technology vendors are managed through clear accountability, structured engagement, effective performance oversight and disciplined contract governance.The role partners closely with Technology, Procurement, Legal, Finance and business stakeholders to strengthen vendor delivery, monitor service outcomes, manage commercial obligations and provide timely management insights. It is also responsible for ensuring technology cost transparency, including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Cost-to-Business (C2B) frameworks, to support budgeting, cost optimisation and investment decisions.
Job Description:
- Govern the end-to-end lifecycle for IT professional services and managed services contracts, including renewals, change requests, scope alignment, compliance tracking and timely stakeholder approvals.
- Serve as the relationship owner for key technology vendors, leading strategic engagements, governance forums and executive-level discussions to align vendor delivery with business and technology priorities.
- Oversee vendor performance against contractual obligations, service levels, deliverables, resource commitments and agreed commercial terms, including the definition of performance metrics, SLA measures and reporting requirements.
- Work with vendors to establish regular performance reporting, service review cadences and management dashboards to track SLA achievement, delivery quality, risks, issues and remediation actions.
- Partner with Procurement, Legal, Finance, IT and business stakeholders to ensure vendor engagements are commercially sound, compliant with internal policies, and aligned to technology delivery priorities.
- Maintain oversight of vendor spend, contract utilisation, resource deployment and service outcomes to identify optimisation opportunities, strengthen governance discipline and support management decision-making.
- Influence vendor roadmaps, resource planning, service enhancements and commercial outcomes to maximise value from strategic technology partnerships.
- Implement and maintain the Total Cost of Ownership framework for the PACS technology landscape, covering cost identification, categorisation, forecasting and attribution across functions, business lines and products.
- Analyse technology spend and application portfolios, with a focus on vendor arrangements and resource allocations to identify cost optimisation opportunities and support the execution of agreed strategic and tactical cost-reduction initiatives, while maintaining appropriate service delivery standards.
- Develop and refine the Cost-to-Business framework by mapping applications to business functions, validating ownership and usage, applying agreed cost allocation methods, and producing insights that improve technology cost transparency and management decision-making.
- Provide advisory and operational support to PACS in managing Group Technology-related requests pertaining to the technology budget and spend management domain, including but not limited to data gathering, analysis, reconciliation, response preparation, and stakeholder coordination.

- Proven track record as a relationship owner for strategic technology vendors, with experience managing executive-level engagements, influencing vendor roadmaps, driving commercial outcomes, and leading remediation or negotiation efforts across complex multi-year technology service agreements.
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills, capable of managing complex discussions relating to performance, service quality, commercial terms and contractual obligations.
- A track record of working in dynamic environments independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong sense of ownership and commitment to deliver responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Organised and detail orientated, with a willingness to embrace tools to work more efficiently.
Working Experience
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Technology Portfolio Management, Vendor Management, Technology Financial Management, IT Finance, IT Strategy or a related technology governance function.
- Strong understanding of technology sourcing models, including staff augmentation, outcome-based services, managed services and outsourced delivery models.
- Proven experience managing strategic vendor relationships across IT Professional Services, Managed Services, System Integrators and Technology Service Providers.
- Experience leading vendor governance forums, executive business reviews, service review meetings and performance management discussions.
- Experience analysing technology spend, vendor contracts, application portfolios and resource utilisation to support cost optimisation and investment decisions.
- Experience working closely with Finance, Procurement, Technology and business stakeholders on budget planning, forecasting, financial reporting and governance activities.
- Experience presenting financial, operational and vendor performance insights to senior management and supporting executive decision-making processes.
Education
- Bachelor degree (Business, Finance, IT or equivalent)
- Insurance, IT and/or Project management certifications / qualifications highly desirable
