Senior Product Analyst

Job Description
We're looking for a Senior Product Analyst to join Split Pay, a fintech that just raised $100M+ in a Series B round, providing split rent and mortgage payments for the US market. Backed by leading VC funds, with a founding team boasting experience at Cash App, Dropbox, Square, Amazon and Apple, Split Pay is going through extensive growth and is expanding its analytics team to turn fragmented, fast-growing data into a coherent, trustworthy view of the business.
You will
Own product analytics across Split Pay's customer journey – acquisition, onboarding, underwriting, payments, retention, and expansion.
Bring together data scattered across application databases, payment/banking infrastructure, product analytics, marketing, underwriting, and third-party systems into one consistent analytical model.
Work directly with engineering on event instrumentation, data quality, schemas, pipelines, and source-of-truth datasets.
Establish clear, consistent definitions for key business and product metrics across teams.
Design, run, and analyze A/B tests with a very high standard of statistical rigor — sample size, power, randomization, guardrail metrics, and everything that can go wrong (bias, SRM, novelty effects, peeking, multiple comparisons).
Perform deep-dive analyses into conversion, retention, churn, engagement, payment behavior, and unit economics – and trace unexpected metric movements to their actual root cause.
Build reusable analytical datasets and tooling instead of one-off queries.
Partner directly with product and engineering to define success before launch and evaluate results after.
Use tools like Codex, Claude Code, and other AI systems extensively to speed up SQL, analysis, and documentation – while independently validating output and owning the reasoning behind it.
Requirements
Significant experience in product analytics, data analytics, decision science, or a similarly quantitative role.
Exceptional SQL – comfortable exploring large, messy, multi-system datasets and judging whether an analysis can actually be trusted.
Deep expertise in A/B testing and experimental design, well beyond reading significance off a dashboard.
Strong grounding in probability, statistics, hypothesis testing, and experimental validity.
Ability to turn an ambiguous business question into a measurable analytical problem, and to spot a result that's statistically significant but practically meaningless.
Comfortable working with engineers on data architecture, instrumentation, and pipeline/warehouse design.
AI-native analytical habits are expected – but not outsourcing judgment to AI. You should be able to challenge generated SQL, catch bad assumptions, and decide if an answer is credible.
Excellent written and verbal English.
Fintech, payments, lending, or other complex-transactional-data experience is a strong plus.
Relocation to Lisbon, Portugal is required.
We offer
Up to €120k/year salary + equity; higher figures can be negotiated.
Supplemental private medical insurance, free office lunches, wellness stipend, and other benefits.
Unusual ownership over the analytics stack behind one of the leanest, fastest-growing fintechs in the market.
