The Position

Job description 

The Business Systems Analyst takes ownership of ambiguous tasks, challenges the status quo, and acts as a technical mentor while fostering strong collaboration across teams. In this role, you will lead small to medium initiatives, prioritize effectively with stakeholders, and maintain a "bigger picture" view of how various components align with the overall strategy. You will analyze complex business problems to recommend automated solutions, identify and implement process improvements, and optimize system configurations for peak efficiency. By developing comprehensive test strategies, leading cross-functional teams, and designing system integrations, you will leverage a deep understanding of the broader technical landscape to drive high-quality outcomes. 

Description of the area 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Scope / (Content Leadership) & Accountability/Problem Solving: Takes ownership of ambiguous tasks and topics in the "grey zone" (where there is no defined owner) and successfully drives small to medium (S/M) initiatives at the project, squad, or product level. Challenges the status quo, skillfully navigates group dynamics in diversified settings, and fosters good collaboration, coaching, and mentoring. Analyzes complex business problems to recommend automated system solutions, identifies process improvements, optimizes system configurations, and designs and implements system integrations. 

  • Stakeholder Management: Prioritizes and communicates with stakeholders effectively. Maintains a bigger picture view to thoroughly understand how various technical components fit into the overall product strategy and goals. 

  • Impact/Strategy: Acts as a technical mentor and aligns development plans with the global strategy. Actively gives speeches and shares knowledge in internal events (e.g., DevOps Days, Tech Talk, Tech Live). Engages in the organization of knowledge-sharing events and gets involved in initiatives or tasks reaching outside of the regular project scope. 

  • Complexity / (Product Size): Operates at the Product or Site level, making a direct impact on the technical decisions within the product and the ways of working of other chapter members. Leads cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues. 

  • Business / Technical ability: Possesses a deep understanding of the broader technical landscape beyond the specific component being worked on. Formulates and implements technical strategies aligned with organizational objectives, and invests time and energy in initiatives that boost creativity and innovation while maintaining the highest engineering quality. 

Qualifications 

Education / Experience 

  • Demonstrated experience taking ownership of ambiguous tasks, acting as a technical mentor, and successfully driving small to medium initiatives at the project or product level. 

  • Experience leading cross-functional linked teams to solve complex business or systems issues. 

  • Proven track record of engaging in knowledge-sharing initiatives, speaking at internal technical events, and navigating group dynamics in diversified settings. 

Technical Skills 

  • Strong capability in analyzing complex business problems and recommending, designing, and implementing automated system solutions and integrations. 

  • Expertise in optimizing system configurations and settings for efficiency and performance. 

  • Proficiency in developing comprehensive test strategies and plans. 

  • Deep understanding of the broader technical landscape beyond immediate components, with the ability to formulate and implement technical strategies aligned with organizational objectives. 

  • 3 years of experience with event-driven architecture (EDA) in the manufacturing context including MQTT Message broker or other similar relevant IT and OT technologies 

Additional Qualifications 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to challenge the status quo and propose innovative process improvements. 

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of prioritizing effectively and maintaining a "bigger picture" view of how technical components fit organizational goals. 

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate difficult concepts and influence stakeholders to adopt different perspectives. 

  • Proactive mindset to identify opportunities to enhance value, improve existing solutions, manage technical debt, and lead teams in identifying innovative solutions. 

  • With a global team and the main stakeholders in NALA and EMEA the position requires regular availability for meetings outside of standard business hours 

  • Availability to travel up to 20% of the time
