Job Description
What Pit is
Pit is an AI product team as a service, on which enterprises build and run custom software that runs their business operations. Founded by the founders and CTO/AI leads of Voi, Klarna, iZettle, and hitta.se, Pit is now live with large enterprise customers across multibillion-dollar healthcare, mobility, telecom, and industrials businesses. Backed by a16z and 30 angels, including founders and leaders from Unity, Deel, King, Sana, Anthropic, OpenAI, Mercury, Permira, DST, Lakestar, the Wallenberg family, and others.
We are currently expanding our team with Solutions Engineers who prove what the Pit platform can do for potential customers.
Why this role exists
As a Solutions Engineer you work directly with prospective enterprise customers to demonstrate that the Pit platform can create measurable value before they sign. You partner closely with GTM Executives throughout the sales cycle, running discovery, building proof-of-concepts, and winning the trust of technical stakeholders. For smaller engagements you can take the work all the way to a production-ready system yourself, while for larger cases you hand off context cleanly to Implementation Engineers who are focused on implementation.
You collaborate closely with Platform Engineers to keep your POCs and technical commitments grounded in what Pit can actually deliver in production. You will also collaborate with the Platform team on the developer tools and workflow automations that help you move fast.
What you own
Your work includes:
understanding prospect workflows and constraints during discovery
leading workshops and technical/architecture discussions with prospects
designing and building proof-of-concepts that demonstrate real business value
integrating with prospect data and systems well enough to make a POC credible
scoping early implementation plans and handing off cleanly to the Implementation team
partnering with GTM Executives to navigate enterprise sales cycles and close deals
occasionally taking small, simple projects all the way to a production-ready state
The biggest challenge will be convincing customers about Pit’s ability to practically deliver enterprise-grade solutions that solve actual business problems, often under deal pressure, which requires both empathy and technical credibility.
What success looks like
Prospects move from skepticism to conviction quickly
Technical stakeholders trust Pit’s ability to deliver
Deals close with a clear, de-risked path to production
Qualifications
Required
Skills within software engineering, ideally in TypeScript/Node.js, with enough range to build credible proof-of-concepts with the help of coding agents
Proven ability to lead technical conversations with enterprise stakeholders, from discovery workshops to architecture discussions
Experience integrating with APIs, databases, and legacy systems to understand if there is a viable path from POC to production
Comfort navigating ambiguity in a sales context: vague problems, compressed timelines, and competing stakeholders
Strong empathy for non-technical users and the patience to understand their actual workflows before pitching a solution
Clear, persuasive communication style. You can win a room of skeptical engineers or executives
Preferred
Experience in a pre-sales, sales engineering, forward deployed engineering, or technical consulting role
Background working with enterprise customers in regulated or operationally complex industries
Experience working with coding agents
Comfortable being measured on deal influence or quota-adjacent outcomes
Not a fit if
You prefer building in isolation. This role requires constant collaboration with prospects, GTM, and platform teams
Your technical experience is primarily theoretical or limited to greenfield projects. You still need enough depth to build a credible POC and defend it under scrutiny
You’re intimidated by a room of skeptical executives. We need people who build instant credibility.
