At Sony Music Entertainment, we fuel the creative journey. We’ve played a pioneering role in music history, from the first-ever music label to the invention of the flat disc record. We’ve nurtured some of music’s most iconic artists and produced some of the most influential recordings of all time.

Today, we work in more than 70 countries, supporting a diverse roster of international superstars, developing and independent artists, and visionary creators. In everything we do, we’re committed to artistic integrity, transparency, and entrepreneurship.

Sony Music Entertainment is a member of the Sony family of global companies.

About Business Solutions

Business Solutions partners with our label, marketing, and release planning teams to build the tools and workflows that help them run more effectively. We operate as a trusted internal partner, not an order-taking function. Our work is guided by three principles: Fail Fast: test ideas quickly, and don't let perfection get in the way of progress; Learn Quickly: treat every iteration as a chance to learn, document, and adapt; and Move Forward: keep the work, and the people we support, moving.

Role Summary

The Senior Business Solutions Specialist is the trusted day-to-day partner for a dedicated portfolio of business units spanning US and international markets, owning the full solution lifecycle from discovery through delivery, while mentoring the broader NYC Specialist team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for your assigned business units
  • Run discovery, scoping, and requirements-gathering sessions independently
  • Build and maintain business systems, automations, and workflows supporting label, marketing, and release operations
  • Write specs and requirements for integrations with internal Sony Music systems
  • Lead data migrations for assigned business units
  • Test solutions with end users and incorporate feedback quickly
  • Share best practices with the broader team, contributing repeatable patterns and playbook content to support other junior Specialists
  • Escalate architecture/platform-level questions to the Architect
  • Identify opportunities to centralize and standardize workflows across assigned BUs
  • Lead enablement and change-adoption efforts within your portfolio – training business users to use AI tools (e.g., Claude Cowork) to solve their own recurring problems, not just handing off finished solutions
  • Define success metrics for initiatives in your portfolio and use adoption/usage data to evaluate outcomes and guide iteration
  • Ensure initiatives align with governance, privacy, security, and compliance requirements, partnering with the Architect and relevant stakeholders (Legal, InfoSec) as needed

    Required Qualifications
  • 5-8+ years in business/systems analysis, solutions consulting, or enterprise no-code/low-code platform administration, with the judgment to build solutions that are secure, scalable, and well-governed
  • Demonstrated ability to run point independently with senior business stakeholders
  • Strong requirements-gathering, process-mapping, and documentation skills
  • Experience with data migrations
  • Comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects and business units
  • Extensive A.I. experience using tools such as Claude Cowork, ChatGPT Work, Google Gemini
  • Basic scripting, SQL, or automation-logic familiarity
  • Tool-agnostic and adaptable to learning new platforms as workflows expand
  • Experience leading change adoption or user enablement efforts within a business function
  • Comfortable defining measures of success and using data to evaluate outcomes

Nice to Have (not required)

  • Music industry experience; media & entertainment adjacency (rights, royalties, metadata) a plus
  • Airtable certification or deep hands-on Airtable expertise (our current core platform)

A Note on Applying

  • We encourage you to apply even if you don't check every box

What we give you:
