Growth Lead, Product & Virality

Job Description
About Us
Rho is the modern banking platform built for startups. Open accounts in minutes, issue cards, manage expenses, pay bills, and close the books – all in one connected platform backed by real human support.
The role
We’re hiring a Growth Lead to own and scale everything that happens after an account is approved: activation, lifecycle, and referral systems that turn one client into ten.
Everyone at Rho ships production-ready code, including you: you build the trigger, not the brief for someone else to build it. You'll work in the codebase with our internal coding agent, and your code goes through the same review as everyone else's. This is an IC role: you'll pull in design and engineering partners, not reports.
An account's first weeks decide most of its lifetime value, and the strongest signal is whether Rho becomes the business's operating account. From rewards engines to referrals and notifications, you'll own the product surfaces that shorten that path, built so a small team can run them at scale. You'll own one number: active accounts, meaning an account that swiped a card or held a balance in the last 60 days. K-factor, activation rate, and monetization are how you move it. This is a shipping role inside a measurement culture, and both halves are non-negotiable.
Key responsibilities
Build and operate Rho's growth surfaces: the rewards platform, the native referral experience, affiliate and connector products, activation and reactivation flows, in-product notifications and lifecycle messaging, and pricing and packaging tests.
Write the production code. You spec it, you build it, you ship it. You are not writing a brief and waiting on someone else's sprint.
Ship alongside product and engineering without waiting on their roadmap: your own surfaces, their code review, compliance and risk in early rather than at the end.
Live in the warehouse. Define the events, write the queries, build the readouts that tell you whether a program is working before anyone asks.
Set the measurement bar before you ship, not after: what counts as a qualified referral, what the holdout looks like, what number would make you kill this. Then report the version you'd defend under scrutiny, not the one that looks best.
Decide what gets built next from evidence. Most bets won't work. Your job is to find that out fast and cheap, then move.
Own what you launch in production. These are systems with real economics attached, not campaigns with an end date. You'll tune reward costs, tighten abuse rules, and when the payout job breaks, it's yours.
Pull signal from the people closer to customers than you are. The best growth ideas usually surface in a sales call or a support thread before they show up in a dashboard.
Requirements
5+ years in growth, lifecycle, or product-led growth, with ownership of a revenue or usage number rather than campaign metrics
You've made something spread or stick, and you can show the mechanism rather than the outcome: the incentive, the loop, the counterfactual that proved it worked. Give you a feature and your instinct is to find the moment a customer would share it, the reward that makes sharing worth it, and the math that keeps it from getting gamed
Exceptional instincts for timing and incentives: when a nudge lands, when it's noise, and what a reward has to be worth before it changes what someone does
You've built with agents and automation, and you know the difference between a demo and a system that runs every day
You're rigorous about measurement: experiment design, cohort analysis, holdouts, incentive economics, and comfortable in SQL
You treat regulated-industry constraints as design inputs rather than obstacles
Our people are our most valuable asset. Our target compensation range for this role is $165,000 - $320,000. Compensation will be determined by leveling and performance throughout the interview process. In addition to base pay, Rho offers equity, comprehensive healthcare benefits, and paid time off.
