About the opportunity
We are looking for a dynamic Fraud Analyst to join our Fraud Operations team within the AFC Operations Department. In this role, you will play a key part in identifying, investigating, and mitigating fraud risks, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining a secure environment for our customers. You will balance daily operational responsibilities with high-impact project work, driving process improvements and helping scale our fraud prevention operations.
In this role, you will:
Process Improvement & Operations
- Drive continuous process improvements and operational efficiency across fraud detection and investigation workflows.
- Create, update, and maintain detailed Work Instructions (WIs) aligned with internal policies and global standards.
- Effectively balance daily operational case-handling responsibilities with key project-oriented initiatives.
- Investigate complex fraud escalations and take swift action to minimize financial losses and mitigate fraud risks.
Data & Analysis
- Conduct regular data analysis to identify emerging fraud typologies, suspicious behaviors, and transaction patterns.
- Leverage analytics to provide actionable insights for optimizing internal transaction monitoring and alert-handling systems.
Training & Operational Support
- Provide ongoing operational support and guidance to the wider fraud operations team.
- Design and deliver training sessions on updated processes, Work Instructions, and fraud detection methodologies.
What you need to be successful:
- 2+ years of experience in fraud operations, financial crime investigations, or risk analysis within banking, fintech, or payments.
- Hands-on experience working with modern fraud detection systems, alert monitoring tools, and case management systems.
- Strong data analysis skills, including proficiency in Advanced Excel/Google Sheets; SQL or BI tools (Power BI, Looker, Tableau) experience is a strong plus.
- Proven structured problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset to interpret fraud data and recognize risk patterns.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear, structured Work Instructions, process maps, and operational documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Law, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
- Fluency in English is required; additional European languages are a plus.
- Proactive, self-driven attitude with a strong ability to manage priorities across project tasks and daily operations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience delivering training and operational support.
