Join us to make history — for patients, for their families, for the future.
The Oncology Patient Support & Advocacy Navigator (PSAN) is a field-based, non-sales, above-brand role within OPSA's US Advocacy & Professional Relations (A&PR) team. The Navigator leads the tactical execution and regional activation of national advocacy partnerships and programs across a select portfolio of leading US oncology patient advocacy and professional organizations, spanning multiple solid and liquid tumor areas within strategically identified target geographies. The Navigator delivers above-brand, disease-state education to patients and caregivers—presenting directly, or coordinating cross-functional partners (e.g., Field Medical) to present approved content—and connects them to appropriate advocacy resources and support.
The PSAN is responsible for overseeing major patient programs, driving strategic initiatives and working with cross-functional teams in regional and local areas, in close coordination with the A&PR Directors. The Navigator has advanced expertise in the patient journey, which informs organizational direction through key insights that contribute to long-term business objectives. The Navigator plays a key role in shaping patient advocacy and engagement strategies and solutions within A&PR, OPSA, and the Oncology organization. The Navigator adheres to compliance & regulatory standards, including Corporate Policy 208 (CP208), the Patient Engagement Lead Policy, and fosters innovation to advance patient engagement and navigation to resources.
The Navigator is also responsible for leading identified complex projects, setting objectives and strategies, reporting measurable outcomes while coordinating with cross-functional partners, aligning to oncology priorities and the A&PR strategies and measurement framework.
This is a non-promotional role. The Navigator does not provide sales or reimbursement support and appropriately triages patients to reimbursement resources as needed, always respecting the independence of advocacy organizations and adhering to Pfizer policy (including CP208) and all applicable laws and regulations.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execution, Activation, and Impact: Lead tactical execution of sponsorships, including coordination, presentation, and leadership of educational programming at patient community events as regional activations of national partnerships, ensuring compliance and reporting requirements are met. Capture post-meeting insights to inform Pfizer teams on unmet patient needs as well as patient programming impact
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with regional and local teams in key markets and at educational events (e.g., KAD, Field Medical), supporting national activity as requested
- Patient Education & Event Delivery: Support delivery of above-brand, disease-state education to patients and caregivers at community and advocacy events; present at regional meetings—or coordinate cross-functional partners (e.g., Field Medical) to present approved content—and connect patients to relevant advocacy resources in their communities and at Pfizer
- Regional Partnership Activation: Deepen the regional presence and relationships of Pfizer's national advocacy partners to advance patient and caregiver needs across target geographies
- Funding & Budget Management: Manage customer-facing and internal elements of sponsorship/exhibit funding requests, including the associated budget, treating each as a business-aligned Pfizer investment
- Project Coordination: Coordinate project plans, timelines, and deliverables across Business Unit, OPSA, and A&PR stakeholders to support execution of approved initiatives
- Measurement & Reporting: Report post-event and project patient insights, impact and metrics, ensuring strategy and impact reporting align to the A&PR strategic and measurement framework and inform Pfizer teams on unmet patient needs
- Expertise & Knowledge Sharing: Serve as a subject matter expert on the oncology advocacy and professional relations ecosystem, adapting and implementing strategic actions and sharing knowledge and best practices across the organization, aligned with CP208. Provide local insights to inform the Brand Team, OPSA, and franchise partners
- Innovation & Solutions: Support and identify solutions to complex problems, champion innovation, and implement new ideas, processes, or program-influencing decisions that impact current and future business objectives
