Role Summary
We are looking for a proactive, highly adaptable Trainee – Staff & Tooling Support Engineer to assist our senior engineering team across a broad spectrum of technical, operational, and administrative workflows.
In this versatile role, you will act as a key technical support pillar for the department. Your responsibilities will range from automating office and engineering workflows using Python and Google Apps Script, managing internal web pages and technical documentation, to hands-on support in the engineering laboratory and inside vehicle test setups.
This position is ideal for a hands-on, curious student or graduate with strong English communication skills who wants broad exposure to automotive engineering processes, tooling, and field testing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Automation, Tooling & Web Management
Scripting & Automation: Develop and maintain light automation scripts using Python and Google Apps Script (Sheets, Docs, Drive) to streamline team workflows, inventory tracking, and reporting.
Intranet/Website Management: Maintain, update, and organize the department’s internal portal/website, ensuring technical resources, tool documentation, and team guides are up to date.
2. Engineering Support & Field Operations
Hands-on Lab & Vehicle Support: Assist senior engineers with hardware, cabling, sensor mounting, and equipment setups directly in the laboratory or inside testing vehicles.
Technical Documentation & Drawings: Help create, organize, and update technical documentation, system diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
Dynamic Task Management: Adapt quickly to varied day-to-day operational requests, ranging from troubleshooting bench setups to preparing equipment for test campaigns.
Qualifications & Skills
Must-Have Requirements
Fluency in English: Strong written and verbal English communication skills (required for working with international documentation, tools, and cross-functional teams).
Proactiveness & Mindset: High initiative, "can-do" attitude, self-motivation, and a strong eagerness to learn new technical domains quickly.
Basic Scripting Knowledge: Familiarity with Python and interest/experience in Google Apps Script (or JavaScript/macros).
Technical Aptitude: Comfort with managing structured technical documentation, spreadsheets, and basic digital tools.
Educational Background: Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Desirable / Nice-to-Have Skills
Practical experience or interest in hands-on technical work (lab benches, vehicle electronics, or basic mechanical work).
Basic understanding of technical drawing tools/software (e.g., Visio, CAD viewers, or vector drawing tools).
Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS or content management tools for internal wiki/website updates.
