R&D unit in KTI is responsible for developing digital services at KONE. It’s the development engine for our Digital Services such as KONE 24/7 Connected Services, Office Flow and Partnership Ecosystem. Role Summary:
The Associate Lead Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality full-stack software solutions while providing technical guidance to the development team. The role requires strong expertise in frontend development, particularly React JS, along with good understanding of backend technologies and containerized application environments.

The role contributes to software architecture, complex feature implementation, technical problem-solving, code quality, sprint execution, and mentoring of team members. The Associate Lead Software Developer also works closely with product owners, architects, developers, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders to ensure successful and timely delivery of software releases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable frontend and full-stack applications.
  • Lead implementation of complex UI features and technical solutions.
  • Participate in solution design and technical architecture discussions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to software developers.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and engineering best practices.
  • Support sprint planning, estimation, task breakdown, and technical prioritization.
  • Coordinate with backend, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams for feature integration.
  • Troubleshoot complex application, integration, and deployment-related issues.
  • Drive application performance, maintainability, usability, and code quality improvements.
  • Support defect analysis, root-cause investigation, and resolution.
  • Contribute to release readiness, integration testing, and production support activities.
  • Identify opportunities for technical improvements and reusable software solutions.
  • Support Agile/Scrum activities and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience in React JS and modern frontend development.
  • Good experience in Node.js and full-stack application development.
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, REST APIs, and web application architecture.
  • Experience with Docker/containerized applications.
  • Knowledge of Git-based development workflows and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with debugging, performance optimization, and code quality practices.
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
