Senior Staff Technical Lead (Motor Control Middleware)

Renesas is expanding its motor control software capabilities for industrial applications, requiring strong technical leadership to develop advanced algorithms and middleware for next-generation embedded drive solutions.   

Your Role: 

• Lead a team of motor control engineers focused on advanced algorithm development for embedded drive applications. 
• Guide the design, implementation, testing, and optimization of high-performance motor control software. 
• Serve as the technical interface between the local engineering team, the architecture team, and global motor control counterparts. 
• Ensure robust validation, documentation, and release readiness for motor control software modules. 
• Support key customer engagements by providing deep technical expertise and solution-oriented guidance. 
• Contribute to technical marketing content, including application notes, whitepapers, and customer-facing material. 
• Coach and mentor engineers, fostering technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement within the team. 
• Collaborate with universities and external partners to strengthen innovation and build a sustainable talent pipeline. 
• Establish the Greece team as a center of excellence for motor control algorithm development.

• M.Sc./PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, or equivalent. 
• Deep expertise in motor control theory and implementation, including field-oriented control, sensorless control, modulation techniques, current/torque/speed control loops, and motor parameter identification. 
• Strong hands-on experience developing and validating motor control algorithms for PMSM, BLDC, and AC induction motor applications. 
• Familiarity with embedded real-time software development, MCU-based motor control platforms, inverter hardware, power stages, and lab-based motor drive validation. 
• Curiosity and initiative to explore new technologies and drive innovation. 
• Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
• Excellent customer focus with strong communication skills. 
• Result-oriented, self-organized, self-motivated with independence of thought.
