Job Description

Job Application for Senior Product Manager at Storyblocks Back to jobs New Senior Product Manager Remote Apply Who You Are: We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead The Lab, Storyblocks' AI product team. This role owns conversational search and our MCP connector, which puts the Storyblocks library inside AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT. Conversational search gets customers to the right result when they describe a mood or an idea rather than a keyword, including searches that used to come back empty. Our MCP connector brings the Storyblocks library into the tools they already work in, so finding the right clip doesn't mean stepping away from the project. This role works with engineers, data scientists, designers, researchers, marketers, and analysts on a cross-functional squad. It is a high-impact, high-visibility role, responsible for helping to define where our AI products go and then rallying the cross-functional team to experiment and deliver business results. This role leads The Lab and reports to Scott Simpson, VP Product. It can be based out of anywhere in the US. *Note: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Storyblocks does not sponsor employment visas What You'll Do: Own the roadmap for The Lab — Storyblocks' AI product team — translating open-ended questions about search quality, memory, and MCP distribution into a prioritized plan with clear business impact. Define and track the metrics that matter for AI product quality, distinguishing real signals from vanity KPIs and iterating when things don't go as planned. Partner directly with engineering, data science, design, research, and PMM to align on OKRs and rally the team to deliver against them. Drive experimentation at real volume, designing pre/post and A/B tests using tools like Statsig, LaunchDarkly, Optimizely, or Amplitude. Use qualitative research — customer interviews, usability studies, and discovery sessions — to inform prioritization and product direction. Navigate complex launches that require legal review and third-party platform approval (e.g. OpenAI plugin store, Claude MCP directory). Reason about what an AI interaction costs and what that implies for packaging, pricing, and product strategy. Communicate roadmap and priorities clearly to audiences ranging from engineering and data science to executive leadership. What You Bring to the Table: You don't need to check every box here. If you're strong in most of these and genuinely curious about the rest, we'd love to talk. Strategy & Prioritization: Demonstrates the ability to identify opportunities across the customer journey using qualitative and quantitative data. Problem Solve: Demonstrates the ability to problem solve, diagnose, and the agility to adjust roadmap and actions when 'things go wrong'. Qualitative Research: Past experience in utilizing qualitative research to inform product development. Quantitative Testing: Past experience in setting quantitative testing experimentation frameworks: pre/post, A/B testing. AI & LLM Products: Experience shipping an LLM-powered product to general availability is a strong plus. Cross-functional Leadership: Evidence of strong cross-functional leadership in driving impact and execution by aligning Product/Engr/Design/Data Science/Research/PMM to achieve OKRs. Curiosity: You are interested in solving hard problems, and enjoy exploring new technologies and ideas. You enjoy diving into unknown territory. Comfort with ambiguity: You can make good decisions with incomplete information, and you are honest about your confidence level. Ownership mentality: You care deeply about all aspects of the product and user experience. You do whatever is necessary to move the team along and deliver value to customers. Growth mindset: You are eager to find ways to improve yourself and your team. You are open to feedback from your teammates. You promote a culture of experimentation. Team player: You work best as part of a team (no matter where they're located). You are humble, supportive, and empathetic. You foster an inclusive environment for your team and are always open to new ideas. Must Have's: Project management experience with increasing levels of responsibilities. Consumer, e-commerce, and/or subscription product experience a plus. Demonstrated ability to deliver impact on key product and business metrics. Ability to communicate effectively across departments and executive leadership. Experience owning cross-functional efforts to drive company level objectives and outcomes. A strategic and systematic thinker who thrives on hypothesis-driven and data-driven approach to experiment design and learnings. Embrace rapid experimentation, making decisions using available data. How you work: You identify opportunities starting from customer problems, using both qualitative and quantitative data. You diagnose when things go wrong and adjust the roadmap and actions without waiting for someone to tell you to.
