DNSFilter
Staff Technical Product Manager
United States · Posted 2h ago
Job Description
DNSFilter’s mission is to protect our customers and partners with products they love to use! We are revolutionizing network security by providing fast, accurate, and reliable threat protection and content filtering. We're a rapidly growing company dedicated to creating a safer internet for businesses and organizations worldwide. Leveraging AI-driven threat intelligence, DNSFilter empowers our customers to proactively block threats before they impact their networks. We foster a collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented culture where every team member contributes to our mission of making the internet safer.
As we continue our product-fueled growth by adding new features and broadening our solution to meet the needs of the global market, it's clear there's a missing piece. That's where you come in!
We are looking for a Staff Technical Product Manager to own our protection platform at the endpoint: the software our customers deploy across laptops, desktops, and mobile so their people stay safe wherever they work. The endpoint is our best vantage point on what a device is actually doing, and what a device needs in order to stay protected keeps changing. What was once people browsing is increasingly applications, services, and AI agents acting on their own. The ideal candidate is a deeply technical product manager who is comfortable starting from an open question rather than a specification, with the depth to turn it into something engineers can build and the judgment to reshape it as the constraints come into focus.
Eligible candidates have worked successfully in a small to mid-sized fast-paced, hyper-growth, SaaS start-up or scale-up.
This is a full-time and remote role with a strong preference for candidates in the United States who are located in either an Eastern or Central time zone.
We recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job. If you feel like this job is for you, please apply. We believe diversity of experience and skills, including transferable skills, combined with passion, is a key to innovation and excellence; therefore, we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply to our positions!
To qualify for this role, you have:
- 8+ years of product management experience, including significant time on security, networking, or endpoint products
- A real understanding of how traffic can be intercepted, inspected, filtered, or isolated, and of the encryption and privacy trade-offs that come with doing it
- Experience with software that runs on machines you do not control: deployment through MDM, RMM, and scripting, conflicts with other software, VPNs, and unfamiliar networks
- A point of view on AI as something to protect, not only something to build with, including shadow AI use and visibility into what agents and tools are doing on a device
- A track record of taking an open, undefined problem all the way to a shipped product
- Experience designing for technical users, including the interfaces, reporting, and data that make a capability usable
- Comfort working hands-on with engineers, writing both the roadmap and the individual work items they act on
- A working habit of using AI to move faster, Claude in particular, and a clear sense of where it helps and where it does not
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical trade-offs to executives, customers, and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work hours overlapping with ET hours
- Must be eligible to work in the region of hire without sponsorship from an employer now and/or in the future
Bonus points for:
- Experience with multi-tenant, white-label, or partner-delivered products
- A prior engineering, solutions architecture, or security research background
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and modern product analytics and customer feedback tools
In this role, you will:
- Own the strategy, roadmap, and backlog for our protection platform at the endpoint, across every operating system we support, bringing more consistency across platforms where we can
- Own our approach to governing AI activity on the device: shadow AI use, and visibility and control over what agents and tools are doing
- Own how our software behaves in environments we do not control, from deployment through MDM, RMM, and scripting to conflicts with other software, VPNs, and unfamiliar networks
- Decide what we inspect, log, and retain, so that encryption and privacy are deliberate product decisions rather than side effects of implementation
- Design the experience and the data around each capability, so that what we ship arrives usable, configurable, and measurable
- Work day-to-day with Engineering and Architecture on feasibility, trade-offs, and sequencing, writing both the roadmap and the individual work items that come out of it
- Represent the product with customers, partners, and prospects across every segment we serve, from enterprise and MSP to OEM, distribution, and direct
- Participate in interviews
We Offer:
- Pathway to promotion to additional organizational positions and responsibilities based upon results and performance, not just time in the chair. You help us grow, and we will help you grow.
- Passionate and intelligent colleagues who work hard and have a good time doing it
- Paid company-wide week off at the end of each year
- Flexible Vacation Policy
- Awesome company swag
- Full medical, dental, and vision benefits for US, UK, and Canada-based employees
- Full short-term disability and life benefits; available long-term disability
- Retirement savings account options with vested company matching for qualifying employees
- All-hands in-person annual gatherings! Next time we are spending a week together in the Bahamas!!
