Job Description
About Leap
Leap is one of the fastest-growing benefits solutions and a category-defining pioneer in employer specialty pharmacy. We are reshaping how life-changing therapies are delivered and financed, ensuring patients get the treatment they need while employers finally get a fair deal.
Specialty drugs and infusions represent nearly 10% of all healthcare spend and are the fastest-growing cost category for employers. Leap tackles this challenge with a novel approach: eliminating hidden markups, expanding access to high-quality infusion providers, and bringing clarity and fairness to how therapies are priced and paid for.
We’re proud to partner with numerous Fortune 500 companies and leading TPAs. Each patient we serve creates immediate ROI: lower costs, improved access, and better care. Join us as we redefine what’s possible in specialty care.
About the Role
Leap is hiring a Staff Product Manager, Specialty Benefits Programs to design and operate the benefit structures, clinical requirements, and member engagement models that direct specialty drug and infusion utilization to Leap for lower-cost, high-quality care.
This is a hands-on product ownership role. You'll define how each one works in practice, identify the capabilities Leap needs to run it, build or contract for those capabilities, establish the operating and performance model, and take it live. You'll do this in close partnership with Sales, Legal, Clinical Affairs, Operations, and Client Success.
You'll have the opportunity to build this capability at an early stage and shape how it scales. Success means turning complex benefit and operational requirements into models that can be implemented consistently across clients, deliver a strong member experience, and generate measurable savings.
What You'll Accomplish
Program Design
Own the design and evolution of Leap's specialty benefit programs
Define program structure and rules, including participation requirements, member incentives, and clinical exceptions, and formalize them into plan terms and clinical criteria
Translate business and client requirements into clear product, operational, and partner requirements
Capability & Partner Development
Identify the capabilities, infrastructure, and partnerships Leap needs to operate these programs effectively
Determine when to build capabilities internally versus partner externally
Evaluate, select, negotiate, and contract with enabling partners, including TPAs, utilization management organizations, and other healthcare vendors
Own partner performance, renewals, and renegotiation once they're live
Program Operations & Performance
Establish the operating model, including prior authorization workflows, service-level expectations, exception handling, and escalation paths
Own execution once live, making day-to-day product and operational decisions and resolving issues across internal and external partners
Define and track performance across engagement, utilization, savings, member experience, and operational execution
Use performance data and operational learnings to improve outcomes and build repeatable models that scale across clients
Product & Commercial Enablement
Own and communicate the value proposition for these offerings across the organization
Serve as the product and technical subject matter expert in key prospect and client conversations
Partner with Sales and Client Success to translate client needs into the right structure and clearly communicate how it works
Develop the customer segmentation and total addressable market (TAM) across different program configurations, and use it to prioritize which configurations to build and for which client segments
What We're Looking For
Required
Experience owning a healthcare product or offering from design through implementation and live operation
Experience working directly with self-funded employers and TPAs, and navigating the operational dependencies required to implement benefit programs across employers, TPAs, health plans, networks, and utilization management partners
Experience identifying capability gaps and building or contracting for solutions to address them
Direct experience evaluating vendors and negotiating contracts and commercial terms
Ability to make product and operational tradeoffs balancing member experience, client savings, and operational feasibility
Comfortable serving as the product and technical expert in sales and client conversations
Preferred
Strong understanding of healthcare benefit design and utilization management mechanics
Experience with specialty drugs, infusion therapy, buy-and-bill, or site-of-care programs
