ROLE SUMMARY
The Director, HTA, Value & Evidence (HV&E), US, Lung Cancer will support the strategic goals of the Oncology Division by driving optimal patient access & appropriate use of medicines within the lung cancer & precision medicine portfolio.
This role directly impacts the ability to achieve business objectives on a US basis by providing strategic guidance and robust evidence development relevant to achieve appropriate use by providers and optimal patient access by demonstrating the value of our medicines. The HV&E Director will be responsible for developing and executing against the US evidence generation strategy, including direct oversight of evidence generation activities and dissemination of technical deliverables, in collaboration with Global HV&E and US Medical.
This position will work closely with Global HVE, GASP, cross-functional US teams, and cross-company alliance partners to foster a culture that promotes innovation, collaboration and thrives on doing better for Pfizer’s patients and for US healthcare providers and systems.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the development of the evidence generation strategy to support the value of medicines in the lung cancer & precision medicine portfolio in the Oncology Division in close partnership with the cross-functional matrix team.
Lead the coordination of input from US Medical, field-facing colleagues, US Market Access, cross-alliance partners and GASP and USMA team on evidence needs and ensure that the input is appropriately incorporated to develop and integrate the evidence strategy to support market access needs at launch and through lifecycle.
Lead the design and execution of HEOR studies (eg, network meta-analyses, Real World Evidence studies such as non-interventional studies), including studies involving site engagement, chart abstraction, and retrospective data collection, from concept through publication.
Lead the timely development of US value & evidence strategy in coordination with US Medical, Global HV&E, customer-facing deliverables such as AMCP dossiers, systematic literature reviews, economic models, and innovative tools to successfully support reimbursement and access requirements in conjunction with US customer facing teams.
As needed, provide strategic input into clinical trial designs (eg, patient populations, comparators, endpoints) and analysis and interpretation of PRO data to enable successful differentiation negotiations, reimbursement, and appropriate patient access with US payers, and regulatory decision makers.
Partner with internal & cross-alliance stakeholders to ensure appropriate customer facing dissemination of HEOR materials per regulatory guidance and internal SOPs, including development of PVPs, promotional materials and FDAMA 114 compliant materials.
Develop strategic partnerships and research collaborations with key external experts, healthcare policy makers, payers, and various academic and community oncology settings to support asset strategies.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
- Graduate degree minimum (e.g. MSc, MPH, PhD) required
- 7+ years of experience required with MSc/MPH/MBA degree; 5+ years of experience required with PharmD/PhD in HEOR or relevant related fields (health economics, epidemiology, health services research, or other research-focused public health field)
- Demonstrated in depth understanding of fundamental health services research methods and tools, including health economic modeling, patient-reported outcomes, statistics, and real-world evidence studies including technical and methodological aspects of registries and observational study design, implementation, analysis and interpretation. Capable of independently managing complex non-interventional study projects
- Knowledge and understanding of drug development process and the US healthcare /economic environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required: ability to understand and respond to multiple internal and external customers
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to assess anticipated value for projects/programs to ensure alignment to business priorities and prioritize accordingly
- An “execution mindset” focused on getting things done quickly and simply
- Strong project management abilities (contracting, budgeting, vendor management) essential. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects (multitask) involving complex processes, significant budget, competing deadlines and rapidly shifting priorities
- Ability to influence key members of medical, clinical, cross-alliance and commercial teams constructively and without conflict
- Skilled in functioning within a matrix organization by managing through influence
- Organized and detail oriented with the ability to anticipate needs and to work proactively to prioritize & address/resolve

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated ability to manage and oversee real-world evidence studies involving clinical sites, medical record review, chart abstraction vendors, data quality oversight, protocol-aligned abstraction processes, and operational execution from study start-up through analysis and reporting is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in the oncology therapeutic area with lung cancer experience preferred.
- Experience with the US healthcare environment.
- Experience with HTA organizations/submissions such as ICER, CMS-IPAY (IRA) and other HTA groups such as NICE.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally based on business needs
- Ability to work in all US time zones
