About This Opportunity

We're looking for a Technical BI & Reporting Lead to join the Client Experience & Data Platform within Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB).

You'll lead a globally distributed team responsible for delivering, supporting and evolving a significant portfolio of business-critical reporting and analytics solutions. Working across established services and strategic transformation initiatives, you'll provide technical leadership across Power BI, SQL and cloud-based analytics technologies, ensuring solutions remain scalable, reliable and aligned to business priorities. You'll support the ongoing evolution of a large reporting estate, helping to modernise legacy reporting solutions and drive the adoption of cloud-based analytics capabilities.

As CIB continues to modernise its reporting and analytics estate, you'll help shape how data is used to support decision-making across the business while driving the adoption of modern, cloud-based analytics capabilities.

Combining technical expertise, people leadership and delivery ownership, you'll shape reporting strategy, influence priorities across business and technology teams, and help drive the evolution of our analytics and reporting capability.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a globally distributed team of Business Intelligence engineers and analysts, fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Own and prioritise the BI & Reporting backlog, balancing business priorities, strategic change and operational delivery to maximise value.

  • Provide technical leadership across Power BI, SQL and cloud-based reporting solutions, acting as a subject matter expert, reviewing solution designs and promoting engineering best practice, scalability and performance.

  • Build strong relationships across business and technology teams, translating requirements into clear delivery priorities and influencing decision-making.

  • Champion Agile ways of working, driving effective planning, prioritisation and continuous improvement across the team.

What You’ll Need

  • 5+ years' experience delivering reporting and analytics solutions using Power BI, with expert knowledge of reporting best practice, dashboard optimisation and performance improvement.

  • Proven experience leading and developing Business Intelligence, reporting or analytics teams, including geographically distributed technical teams.

  • Strong SQL expertise, with experience developing and supporting reporting solutions across large and complex data environments.

  • Proven track record of balancing business-as-usual services with strategic change delivery.

  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into clear delivery priorities.

  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments, including backlog ownership, planning and prioritisation.

  • Experience using Jira, Confluence or similar tools to support Agile delivery and team planning.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience within Financial Services.

  • Experience working within large-scale data transformation programmes.

  • Understanding of data governance and reporting controls.

  • Experience with Looker or other cloud-based BI and analytics platforms.

We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. Whilst this job advert may reference specific years of experience, we recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.
