In this role:
To make our global processes even more secure, efficient, and future-proof, we are building our Internal Control System (ICS) from the ground up. To drive this initiative, we are seeking a proactive, hands-on professional who can seamlessly translate theory into lived practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement the global ICS framework for Villeroy & Boch in close alignment with our global strategy and finance teams.
- Analyze existing business processes, identify key risks, and define effective control activities (Control Design) in collaboration with the respective process owners.
- Systematically map and document complex end-to-end business cycles. Prepare high-quality process narratives and flowcharts, identify control gaps, and leverage data analytics to pinpoint anomalies, emerging risks, or process inefficiencies."
- Act as the central point of contact and sparring partner for our global departments and international subsidiaries during the establishment of their control activities.
- Draft clear guidelines, risk-control matrices (RCMs), and support the selection and implementation of dedicated ICS software tools—with a focus on leveraging automated system-enforced controls and data analytics/dashboards for continuous monitoring.
- Train and sensitize our employees worldwide to risk management and internal controls, fostering an active risk culture within the company.
- Proactively review standard operating procedures (SOPs), corporate policies, and the Delegation of Authority (DoA) matrices to ensure strong governance.
- Establish processes for regularly testing control effectiveness and report the findings and monitor the implementation of agreed-upon corrective actions, conduct formal follow-up verifications, and draft comprehensive progress reports directly to senior management.
Your Profile
Education
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Law, or a comparable qualification with a focus on Audit, Controlling, Corporate Governance, or Risk Management.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in the field of ICS, external audit, internal audit, or risk management.
- Proven experience in setting up or significantly redesigning an ICS is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
- The ability to engage, inspire, and guide colleagues at all levels through new processes
- Strong knowledge of Internal Control System (ICS) frameworks, such as COSO.
- A solid understanding of business processes in global manufacturing or retail environments.
- Experience with major enterprise systems, specifically SAP (ERP/GRC) and Workday (or similar tools).
- The ability to design, audit, and enforce user access profiles, system controls, and segregation of duties (SoD)
- A structured, analytical thinker with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Great communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics simply.
