As a Senior HRIS Analyst, you will play a critical role in building and scaling Virta’s people data and analytics capabilities. You’ll sit at the intersection of People, Technology, and Data—helping maintain Workday and Analytics, translating complex people data into actionable insights, and enabling leaders to make evidence-based decisions. This is a highly visible role with meaningful ownership and the opportunity to shape how people data is used across the organization.
Responsibilities
Working under our HRIS Leader; partner with People, HRIS, and cross-functional stakeholders to support the optimization, and ongoing configuration of Workday, ensuring data integrity and scalable processes.
Configure enhancements and troubleshoot existing Workday configuration across HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Time Tracking, Adv Comp, and Performance.
Design, build, and maintain scalable people analytics solutions, including reports, data visualizations, and dashboards using Workday Reporting, Dashboards, Discovery Boards, and Google App Dashboards to deliver actionable insights across the employee lifecycle and support Business Leaders and Partners.
Perform advanced data analysis to support workforce planning, organizational health, DEI insights, compensation, and operational decision-making.
Establish best practices for people data governance, documentation, and self-service analytics.
Audit Workday Bi-Annual Release updates to access current state impact and recommend adoption of new features and enhancements.
Translate business questions into clear analytical approaches and communicate findings in a way that drives action.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve overall system efficiency.
90 Day Plan
Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:
Build a strong understanding of Virta’s People data ecosystem, Workday configuration, and existing analytics capabilities.
Partner with HRIS and key stakeholders to support active or upcoming Workday initiatives and identify data quality or reporting gaps.
Deliver early-impact dashboards or analyses that address high-priority People questions.
Establish trusted relationships with People leadership and cross-functional partners.
Identify opportunities to improve scalability, automation, and consistency in people data reporting and analysis.
Must-Haves
5+ years of experience in an HRIS or People Analytics role.
Advanced expertise in Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Apps.
Hands-on experience supporting and maintaining Workday.
Strong technical data analysis skills and Workday Report Administrator experience, including reporting, calculated fields, dashboards, and Discovery Boards.
Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Strong understanding of HR data, data governance, and best practices for maintaining data integrity and reporting accuracy.
Experience working in a fast-growing, scaling organization.

Virta has a location based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. For this role, the compensation range is $84,000 - $108,500. Information about Virta’s benefits is on our Careers page at: https://www.virtahealth.com/careers.
As part of your duties at Virta, you may come in contact with sensitive patient information that is governed by HIPAA. Throughout your career at Virta, you will be expected to follow Virta's security and privacy procedures to ensure our patients' information remains strictly confidential. As a remote-first company, our team is spread across various locations with office hubs in Denver and San Francisco.
