Job Description
The FQAP Supervisor oversees the Final Quality Assurance & Pending (FQAP) operations within WD Penang's HDD media component manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for leading a mixed team comprising Senior Leaders, Leaders, Technicians, Coordinators, and Operators to ensure all products meet WD quality and production standards. The Supervisor drives day-to-day floor operations, enforces process discipline, and collaborates with Engineering to resolve quality issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily FQAP operations across shifts, managing a team of Leaders, Technicians, Coordinators, and Operators.
- Meet daily shipment as per Dept objective
- Monitor production and quality output; track key metrics (parts transaction targets, throughput) and escalate issues promptly.
- Lead PI Count
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality non-conformances and escapes.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, Work Instructions, and process control plans on the production floor.
- Conduct shift handovers, team briefings, and coordinate manpower planning and scheduling.
- Coach, develop, and assess team members including Technicians, Coordinators, Leaders, and Operators.
- Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering and Process teams to implement process improvements and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain audit readiness; ensure ESD, safety, and cleanroom compliance at all times.
- Prepare and present shift/daily performance reports to the Manager.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field
Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in manufacturing operations, production, technical training, or learning and development within a manufacturing environment.
Supervisory: Min. 2 years leading a production or quality team (Technicians, Operators, Leaders)
Technical Skills: Familiar with SPC, FMEA, RCA/CAPA, and production floor control systems
Systems: Working knowledge of MES/ERP systems; proficient in MS Office
