SRE

We’re looking for SRE Engineers to join Split Pay, a freshly funded Series B fintech providing split rental and mortgage payments for the US market. Backed by leading VC funds, with a founding team boasting experience at Cash App, Dropbox, Square, Amazon and Apple, Split Pay is going through extensive growth and is expanding reliability team to help sustain increasing load and scaling pace.

You will

• Design, operate, and continuously improve our production infrastructure on AWS.

• Own and evolve our Kubernetes environments, including cluster architecture, networking, workload isolation, deployment patterns, autoscaling, upgrades, and operational reliability.

• Improve the reliability, scalability, and failure tolerance of distributed systems supporting critical financial workflows.

• Own observability across infrastructure and applications, including metrics, logs, tracing, alerting, and incident response.

• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, deployment automation, and developer tooling.

• Participate in incident response and conduct rigorous post-incident analysis focused on permanently eliminating classes of failure.

• Automate operational work aggressively so the infrastructure team can remain extremely lean while supporting a rapidly growing platform.

• Work directly with software engineers to improve application architecture, production readiness, and operational resilience.

   

Requirements

• 3+ years of SRE experience, advanced Kubernetes knowledge.

• Some cloud experience is highly desirable (we use AWS).

• Strong knowledge of infrastructure security and a genuine enthusiasm for zero-trust architecture, least privilege, defense in depth, and identity-first security.

• AI-native engineering habits are expected. Ability to write production-quality automation and tooling, ideally in Python, Go, or a similar language.

• Fintech experience is nice to have.

• Conversational English.

• Relocation to Lisbon, Portugal is required. While we handle the visa process (~6-12 months) you will work remotely.
