The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from:

Job Summary

The Avangrid Power Wind Technical Trainer will be responsible for supporting the operations of Avangrid's wind turbine fleet and for development and implementation of effective training programs. This position will work closely with operations management, plant personnel, accounting, information systems, and supply chain personnel to ensure optimal processes and training are developed and delivered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review training materials, program effectiveness, and develop improvements.

  • Develop and deliver in-person, web based and self-paced training programs and encourage direct feedback driving to "best practice" across the organization.

  • Train personnel in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM - supply chain, inventory, time keeping, expense reporting, HR tasks, other), technical areas, safety, and other operations related areas.

  • Work closely with management, plant personnel, accounting, supply chain, EAM systems personnel, and other stakeholders to develop improvements, processes, procedures, and training across the fleet.

  • Manage external professionals who provide training or other functions.

  • Perform training at wind plants and other locations as required.

  • Provide support for ongoing operational needs.

  • Adhere to effective internal controls.

  • Maintain technical proficiency through ongoing professional development, including attendance at internal and external training programs, industry conferences, manufacturer-led training, and certification courses as required.

  • Obtain and maintain technical, safety, and instructional certifications necessary to support fleet training requirements and operational objectives.

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical support to field personnel, serving as a subject matter resource for technicians seeking guidance on procedures, troubleshooting, and best practices.

  • Support workforce development initiatives by identifying knowledge gaps and recommending targeted training solutions.

  • Respond to technical inquiries and provide clear, concise guidance to technicians and operational personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering or other relevant area of study and 3+ years of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with Oracle, SAP or other mainstream EAM systems.

  • Minimum 3 years training in energy production related environment.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering instructor-led training using Microsoft PowerPoint and virtual learning platforms such as Microsoft Teams.

  • Advanced computer skills utilizing EAM systems, Microsoft Office Productivity Suite, data management, and reporting systems.

  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing technical personnel in a field operations or industrial environment.

  • Comprehensive writing skills for development of training programs, technical documentation, procedures, and upwards reporting.

  • Requires approximately 40% travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Information Systems, Business, or Engineering.

  • Experience in energy production training environments.

  • Experience in power plant and electrical systems operations.

  • Fluency in writing, speaking and understanding Spanish.

  • Ability to foster and participate in a productive team environment by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, customers, contractors, and vendors.

  • Effectively coaches and develops technicians through formal training, field support, and ongoing performance feedback.

  • Adapts training methods and communication styles to meet the needs of diverse learners across multiple experience levels.

  • Maintains credibility with field personnel through strong technical knowledge and practical operational experience.
