Junior Data Engineer – PostgreSQL / PostGIS Job Type Contract , Full Time , Remote Qualification BA/BSc/HND Experience 0 - 3 years Location Abuja Job Field Data, Business Analysis and AI &nbsp Experience Level: Junior / Entry-Level About the Role We are looking for a Junior Data Engineer with foundational knowledge of PostgreSQL, PL/pgSQL and PostGIS to support data management, data processing and the development of data pipelines for a health information platform. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of relational databases and some practical experience working with PostgreSQL. Experience with PostGIS, PL/pgSQL and Power BI is highly desirable, but candidates with foundational knowledge and demonstrated interest in these areas are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will work with experienced data and software engineers to build, maintain and improve data pipelines and support the preparation of reliable datasets for reporting and visualisation. Key Responsibilities Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines. Work with PostgreSQL databases to store, query and manage data. Write and maintain SQL queries for data extraction and transformation. Develop basic PL/pgSQL functions, procedures and database logic under guidance. Support the management and processing of geospatial data using PostGIS. Assist with data transformation, validation and quality checks. Prepare and transform datasets for reporting and visualisation. Support the development of data pipelines that feed Power BI dashboards and reports. Assist with troubleshooting data pipeline and database issues. Document data processes, queries and pipeline configurations. Work with software and data engineers to integrate data from different sources. Support data quality, consistency
