Job Description

Olsson is looking for a National Director - Power Delivery & Generation to provide strategic leadership for one of our fastest-growing markets. This role is responsible for advancing the vision, growth, performance, and national presence of our Power Delivery & Generation business, including transmission, distribution, substation, power generation, and emerging energy solutions.

As National Director, you will partner with market leaders, technical experts, project managers, and business unit leaders to drive operational excellence, strengthen client relationships, expand market presence, and ensure the successful delivery of complex energy projects. You will play a key role in aligning strategy with execution while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence across the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Provide national leadership and strategic direction for Olsson's Power Delivery & Generation market.
  • Partner with market, operational, and technical leaders to develop and execute growth strategies aligned with firmwide objectives.
  • Drive business performance through responsible oversight of financial results, resource planning, project execution, and operational effectiveness.
  • Strengthen client relationships and identify opportunities to expand services, enter new markets, and support long-term growth.
  • Lead and support Senior Team Leaders, Project Managers, Technical Experts, and other key leaders responsible for project delivery and technical excellence.
  • Promote innovation, technology adoption, and continuous improvement to enhance service delivery and project outcomes.
  • Coordinate resources across teams and regions to support sustainable growth and maximize utilization.
  • Foster collaboration across business units, disciplines, and markets to ensure consistent execution and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop, mentor, and retain high-performing teams while creating leadership development opportunities throughout the organization.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, emerging technologies, and market opportunities to position Olsson for future success.
  • Champion quality, risk management, and safety initiatives across the market.
  • Represent Olsson with clients, industry organizations, conferences, strategic partners, and professional associations as a recognized leader in the power industry.

Qualifications

You bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in the power delivery, substation, transmission, distribution, or power generation industry.
  • Demonstrated success leading large teams, complex projects, and multi-disciplinary organizations.
  • Strong understanding of project-based consulting, strategic planning, financial management, resource forecasting, and operational performance.
  • Proven ability to grow markets, develop client relationships, and lead business development efforts.
  • Experience leading organizational change, driving innovation, and implementing operational improvements.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders, align diverse teams, and execute long-term strategies across a national organization.
  • Strong understanding of industry trends, regulatory environments, and emerging technologies impacting the power sector.

The typical annual salary range for this role is as listed below. Compensation may vary based on geographic location, experience, and qualifications. Employees in this role may be eligible for our performance‑based bonus and merit increases.

 

National Pay Range
$160,500$349,000 USD
