Job Description

  • Design and develop enterprise software systems and applications
  • Lead software development teams and provide technical guidance
  • Translate business and technical requirements into solution designs
  • Design and develop data, business logic, and user interface layers
  • Create application and solution designs using UML
  • Optimize software from performance, security, maintainability, and quality perspectives
  • Define and enforce software development standards and best practices
  • Produce technical documentation and design specifications
  • Estimate development effort, timelines, and technical risks
  • Collect and interpret software metrics to support continuous improvement
  • Manage software configuration, releases, and deployments
  • Contribute to requirements analysis, testing, quality assurance, deployment, and change management activities
  • Develop testing tools and perform solution validation
  • Prototype technical solutions and proof-of-concepts
  • Act as 2nd and 3rd line support for delivered solutions
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant IT professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Software Developer or similar role
  • Minimum education level: Level 6 (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in an ICT-relevant field
  • At least 1:
  1. Advanced level certificate in software development technology domain
  2. or an equivalent certification recognized internationally
  • Minimum English language proficiency: B2
  • Experience delivering at least one software solution through the complete software development lifecycle
  • Expert-level experience developing enterprise software systems
  • Knowledge of UML and ability to design applications using UML
  • Proficiency in designing and developing data, business logic, and user interface layers
  • Experience working in Scrum development environments
  • Ability to lead technical teams
  • Ability to effectively document technical solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience as a Software Developer (or similar) in projects involving the analysis, design, implementation, and deployment of ICT solutions connected to or querying the Schengen Information System (SIS)
  • Experience as a Software Developer (or similar) in projects involving biometric and identity document processing solutions, including fingerprint scanning using NIST formats, MRZ document scanning, and/or RFID-enabled biometric document processing
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise application development using modern software engineering practices
