Junior Cloud Integration Developer
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-Time
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain required background investigation, if applicable
Salary Range: $120,000-$130,000
Position Overview
MKS2 is seeking a Junior Cloud Integration Developer to support the design, development, and maintenance of cloud-based integration solutions across enterprise platforms. This role will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to build scalable, resilient, and secure integrations leveraging Kubernetes, AWS integration services, healthcare interoperability standards, and modern DevOps practices.
The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud-native technologies, API integrations, containerized environments, and healthcare data exchange standards such as X12, HL7, and FHIR. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on enterprise-scale integration platforms while expanding expertise in cloud architecture, automation, observability, and service mesh technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based integration solutions using Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
- Build and support integrations leveraging AWS integration services and related cloud capabilities.
- Develop healthcare interoperability solutions utilizing X12, HL7, and FHIR standards.
- Support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) initiatives using Argo CD and modern deployment methodologies.
- Implement and maintain observability, monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility using Datadog or similar platforms.
- Configure telemetry, centralized logging, distributed tracing, and performance monitoring across integration services.
- Support the implementation and management of service mesh technologies such as Istio to enhance security, resilience, and traffic management.
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects, cybersecurity teams, and operations personnel to establish reusable integration frameworks and best practices.
- Troubleshoot integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve production incidents.
- Support enterprise API development and distributed system integrations.
- Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Participate in application releases, testing, validation, and production support activities.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience developing cloud-based integrations utilizing Kubernetes.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with AWS integration services and cloud-native architectures.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience implementing healthcare interoperability solutions using X12, HL7, and FHIR standards.
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines using Argo CD or similar deployment platforms.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog or comparable solutions.
- Experience implementing telemetry, logging, tracing, and monitoring within distributed systems.
- Experience working with service mesh technologies such as Istio.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of cloud integration patterns, APIs, microservices, and distributed system architecture.
- Knowledge of container orchestration platforms and Kubernetes administration concepts.
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and enterprise integration architectures.
- Experience with logging, tracing, alerting, and operational monitoring best practices.
- Knowledge of enterprise integration platforms and scalable integration services.
- Understanding of security principles and secure integration practices within cloud environments.
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation and deployment workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in healthcare, government, or other highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of healthcare data exchange and interoperability standards.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud services and cloud security best practices.
- Experience supporting enterprise integration platforms at scale.
- Exposure to Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps environments.
