Our client is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a 15-person team responsible for delivering and operating applications in a 24/7 environment.

This is a five-month engagement running from 10 August to 31 December 2026, fully remote.

You'll be hands-on with Kubernetes-based applications across both on-premises and public cloud infrastructure, and you'll also help coordinate subcontractors contributing to the platform.

This is not a junior platform role. We're looking for someone who has already carried production responsibility in a 24/7 setting and can step in and be useful in week one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and operate applications in a 24/7 production environment

  • Implement, deploy and maintain Kubernetes-based applications

  • Work across both on-premises and public cloud (AWS) environments

  • Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform

  • Manage GitOps-based deployments with Argo CD and Helm

  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI

  • Support data platform components and orchestration workloads

  • Handle networking, DNS, encryption and certificate management

  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors working on the platform

Required Skills and Experience

  • Senior-level, hands-on Kubernetes experience in production

  • Strong AWS experience alongside on-premises infrastructure

  • Terraform for infrastructure as code

  • Argo CD and Helm for GitOps deployment workflows

  • GitLab CI and Git

  • Python for automation and tooling

  • PostgreSQL

  • Solid networking, DNS, encryption and certificate management fundamentals

  • Experience operating in a 24/7 environment with real uptime expectations

  • Clear communication in English and comfort working with external subcontractors

Nice to Have

  • Data platform experience: Spark, Hadoop

  • Data orchestration tooling, particularly Dagster

  • Jupyter Notebooks

  • BI tooling exposure: Tableau, Power BI
