#130526 - Software Engineer, Data and Java

We are seeking a Software Engineer with strong Java development experience and a background working with data-oriented systems. This role combines backend application engineering with data processing and integration work, supporting scalable services, data ingestion and transformation, and enterprise applications.

 

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building production Java services while working with ETL processes, backend data services, distributed systems, and large-scale data platform technologies.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

* Develop and maintain Java-based backend services and data processing components.

* Build scalable solutions for data ingestion, transformation, and system integration.

* Design and support backend and data-driven services using APIs, databases, and distributed application patterns.

* Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.

* Contribute to system design, implementation, testing, and production operations.

* Improve the performance, reliability, and maintainability of backend and data services.

* Troubleshoot defects and production issues across application and data layers.

* Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and engineering best practices.

* Work effectively within collaborative Agile and cross-functional engineering teams.

* Ramp quickly into existing systems and contribute to active engineering initiatives.

Must-Have Skills

 

* 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.

* Strong hands-on Java development skills.

* Experience working with data-oriented systems, ETL processes, or backend data services.

* Understanding of APIs, databases, and distributed application design.

* Experience with Spark, Kafka, or other large-scale data platform technologies.

* Strong analytical and debugging skills.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to work effectively in collaborative Agile teams.

* Ability to ramp quickly into existing systems and contribute effectively.

* Strong delivery focus across application and data engineering work.

* Comfortable working in cross-functional engineering environments.

 

Nice-to-Have Skills

 

* Familiarity with cloud platforms.

* Familiarity with CI/CD practices.

* Experience with data pipeline operations.

* Experience supporting high-volume enterprise systems.

* Enterprise experience strongly preferred.
