Senior FP&A Manager — Field Operations
Lisboa, Portugal, PT · Posted 1h ago
Job Description
You've probably walked past our lockers on the streets of your city. That's where it starts — but we're building something much bigger: the infrastructure layer for how Europe receives parcels.
We've scaled past €100M in revenue across 9 countries in under four years, with tens of millions of people using our products every month. We're one of the fastest growing tech scale-ups in Europe.
We are in search of a Senior FP&A Manager — Field Operations to join our team as our new #bloqstar. Here's the context: our field operations span 9+ countries, hundreds of technicians, and thousands of deployments per year — and we need to make sure the financial decision-support layer keeps pace with the operational scale.
You'll embed directly into our Field Operations team, working alongside our country managers and ops leaders, owning the financial picture for a distributed, multi-country operation where the numbers need to drive action.
Fair warning: our field operations have grown faster than the financial instrumentation around them. If you need a mature system before it can be useful, this isn't the right fit.
What you'll be doing:
Own the P&L for field operations across all active countries — revenue allocation, direct costs, contribution margin per country and per customer contract;
Build and maintain unit economics for every core activity: cost per deployment, cost per maintenance visit, cost per battery swap — broken down by labour, travel, parts, and subcontractor costs;
Run monthly financial reviews with country managers — budget vs actual, variance drivers, forecast updates — and make sure the numbers drive decisions, not just fill slides;
Track technician utilization against cost and identify where the operation is burning money vs where it's efficient, then work with ops leaders to close the gaps;
Own the rolling forecast for field operations, incorporating new country launches, seasonal patterns, and contract changes as they come;
Analyse SLA cost exposure — where penalty risk is high, what it costs to maintain compliance, and where the cost-to-serve profile doesn't match the commercial terms;
What you'll bring to the table:
5-8 years in FP&A, financial controlling, or management controlling — ideally in a business with distributed field teams (logistics, facilities management, telecoms network ops, fleet operations, or similar);
You can build a P&L from operational data, not just consume one that accounting gives you. You understand cost allocation, activity-based costing, and how to turn operational data into financial clarity;
Strong in Excel/Google Sheets — you build models, not fill in templates. Comfortable with SUMIFS, pivot tables, scenario modelling, and connecting multiple data sources;
Enough technical fluency to pull your own data from an ERP or BI tools without depending on someone else to extract it for you;
Comfortable with ambiguity and imperfect data. You'll often need to make a useful estimate from incomplete information rather than wait for perfect inputs;
Fluent in English. Our field operations span multiple countries and all financial communication is in English.
It would be great if you would also have:
Experience in a high-growth company where the controlling function was being built rather than inherited;
Familiarity with multi-country cost structures, particularly the quirks of European labour costs, subcontracting models, and local tax implications;
Working knowledge of Python or SQL for data extraction and analysis;
Why join us?
A dynamic and fast-paced work environment with a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning;
Competitive salary and flexible benefits package, tailored to your experience and skills;
Access to a stock option package — you'll have skin in the game as Bloq.it continues to grow;
Performance-based bonus, tied to your results and designed to reward your impact;
Work how you work best — we offer a remote-friendly policy and flexible hours so you can stay productive and keep life balanced;
Portuguese Health Insurance including mental health;
Flexible Sports and Wellness membership covering multiple gyms and studios.
