Job Description

At Remitly, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to access, move, and manage their money wherever life takes them. Since 2011, we’ve tirelessly delivered on our promise to customers sending money globally, providing secure, simple, and reliable ways to manage their money, ensuring true peace of mind. Whether it’s supporting loved ones back home, growing a business across continents, or pursuing new opportunities abroad, we’re not just here to move money— we’re here to move our global customers forward. We’re looking for builders, reimaginers, and global thinkers who want to work at the intersection of technology, trust, and transformation. If that’s you and you’re ready to do the most meaningful work of your career—we invite you to join over 2,800 passionate Remitlians worldwide who are united by our vision to transform lives with trusted financial services that transcend borders.About the Role:We're part of the Builder Platform - the team building the foundation Remitly's engineering runs on. That foundation is no longer just for people: we're building for AI agents as first-class users of our platform too. It's a real shift in how software gets built here, and we're on the leading edge of it. If you want to shape cloud infrastructure for both the developers and the agents that will build on it, this is that seat. The Cloud Team designs, builds, and operates Remitly's AWS cloud foundation - the networking fabric and infrastructure tooling that every product team depends on. We manage cloud infrastructure at significant scale (hundreds to thousands of accounts), move money for millions of customers, and treat reliability, security, and operational excellence as non-negotiable.As a Cloud Engineer, you'll focus on our cloud networking stack and the code that defines and automates it - Terraform and Go. You'll design and build network topology in Terraform, operate connectivity that every product team and payments partner depends on, and troubleshoot complex issues across a large multi-account, multi-region AWS environment. You'll work alongside senior engineers who lead our larger architecture efforts, growing your depth as you take on more ownership over time. This is a hands-on engineering role. You’ll manage and operate networks at real scale, and you’ll also build and maintain the Go services that run our platform. If you come from networking or DevOps, you should already be comfortable writing production code - we’ll actively support you in going deeper in Go and our platform. You Will:Design, build, and evolve Remitly's cloud networking in Terraform: VPC design and subnetting, routing, Transit Gateway, DNS, and load balancing across a multi-account, multi-region topology.Own and operate our partner and bank connectivity network - VPNs (IPSec/IKEv2), Direct Connect, and BGP routing to financial partners worldwide.Help operate and improve our edge infrastructure - CloudFront distributions, AWS Shield, WAF configurations, and CDN failover strategies.Troubleshoot complex network issues across distributed cloud environments, applying knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, routing, and traffic flow analysis.Build and maintain Go services and automation that provision and manage AWS resources across our accounts, including tests, code review, and production support.Own delivery of well-scoped infrastructure work end to end: break requirements into tasks, estimate your own effort, and ship high-quality, well-tested changes.Contribute to multi-account governance and the paved-path abstractions that reduce cognitive load for the broader engineering org - for both human developers and AI agents.Collaborate with SRE, Security, and Platform teams to embed observability, compliance, and operational excellence into our cloud foundation.Participate in the on-call rotation (5-person weekly rotation); occasional late syncs with Seattle (4-6 PM CET).You Have:Deep knowledge of cloud networking: VPC design and subnetting, routing, Transit Gateway, DNS, and load balancing.Strong hands-on experience building and operating infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred).3+ years of experience in software, cloud, or infrastructure engineering, including writing production code, with hands-on AWS depth.Solid understanding of TCP/IP and network traffic flow analysis, with the ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues across distributed environments.Experience operating production infrastructure, and an understanding of best practices for versioning, deployment, and CI/CD.Familiarity with edge services (CloudFront, WAF, Shield) or partner connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect, BGP) is a plus.Understanding of multi-account governance and organizational tooling; Kubernetes/EKS familiarity is a plus. Our Benefits:Equity in the company – RSUsEmployee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)26 days paid holiday + additional company days offRoyalties (KUP)Hybrid working model (our office is in the Kraków City Centre)Commute allowanceHealth/Dental Coverage – LUX ME
