As a VP Software Engineer, you will be a pivotal and influential member, driving the evolution of strategic CRM for IB and CB sales professionals. Your key responsibilities

• Hands-on Engineering & Architectural Vision: Be a lead hands-on contributor, actively involved in the design, development, and implementation of highly performant and scalable software solutions. You will contribute significantly to defining architectural patterns, designing service-led architectures (using Java or Kotlin), and crafting intuitive user interfaces with React, shaping the technical direction of our products.
• AI-Driven Innovation & Implementation: Be a driving force in conceptualizing and building AI-powered tools and features for our FIC sales teams. You will leverage AI software development toolkits, contributing to projects focused on machine learning, natural language processing, and predictive analytics to significantly enhance sales effectiveness and client engagement.
• Strategic Greenfield & Integration Leadership: Play a critical role in both building new components from the ground up (greenfield initiatives) and strategically integrating existing solutions. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities to leverage current capabilities across the organization to create a cohesive, efficient, and innovative technology ecosystem.
• Team Growth & Mentorship: As a key member of a growing team, you will contribute to building technical capabilities, assisting in the hiring process, and mentoring junior developers. You will help foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, guiding best practices and technical excellence.
• Front Office Expertise & Impact: Apply your deep understanding of front office technology and workflows to ensure our solutions directly address the needs of IB & CB sales professionals. Your knowledge of CRM platforms and experience collaborating effectively with sales teams, will be invaluable in shaping impactful solutions.
• Collaborative Solution Design: Work closely with sales teams, business analysts, and other stakeholders across Deutsche Bank to gather requirements, define robust solutions, and ensure successful project delivery that aligns with business objectives.
• Adherence to Deutsche Bank's Engineering Principles and Standards: Embrace and promote Deutsche Bank's engineering principles, standards, and best practices, ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and secure software development.

Your skills and experience

• A strong track record as a Software Engineer with significant hands-on experience in delivering complex and impactful software solutions in a dynamic environment.
• Demonstrable experience working in front office technology within an investment bank, coupled with a solid understanding of sales workflows.
• Proven ability in architectural design, with experience in defining and implementing robust, scalable, and maintainable service-led architectures (e.g., microservices).
• Proficiency in modern programming languages, particularly Java or Kotlin.
• Strong experience in modern UI development using React or similar JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with AI software development toolkits and a demonstrable history of contributing to projects centred on AI/Machine Learning.
• A proven ability to contribute to technical initiatives, offer mentorship, and help cultivate team growth and development.
• Experience with both greenfield project development and strategic refactoring/re-engineering of existing systems.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.

• Knowledge of at least one CRM platform (Salesforce, Dynamics,etc) and direct experience collaborating with sales professionals is highly desirable.

Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
