Purpose of the role
To monitor the performance of operational controls, implement and manage security controls and consider lessons learnt in order to protect the bank from potential cyber-attacks and respond to threats.
Accountabilities
- Management of security monitoring systems, including intrusive prevention and detection systems, to alert, detect and block potential cyber security incidents, and provide a prompt response to restore normal operations with minimised system damage.
- Identification of emerging cyber security threats, attack techniques and technologies to detect/prevent incidents, and collaborate with networks and conferences to gain industry knowledge and expertise.
- Management and analysis of security information and event management systems to collect, correlate and analyse security logs, events and alerts/potential threats.
- Triage of data loss prevention alerts to identify and prevent sensitive data for being exfiltrated from the banks network.
- Management of cyber security incidents including remediation & driving to closure.

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in protecting the confidentiality and integrity of organizational data. This position requires full ownership of monitoring, detecting, and analyzing sensitive data movement and user activity to identify potential leakage events, insider risks, and policy violations. You will leverage advanced investigative techniques, data-driven insights, and a proactive security mindset to assess threats and implement effective mitigation strategies. Success in this role depends on your ability to remain vigilant, think several steps ahead, and maintain a sharp eye for detail while operating in a fast-paced and evolving threat landscape.
To be successful as a Data Leak Protection Analyst, you should:
Monitor, investigate, and respond to Tier 1 cyber security and data leakage incidents, conducting thorough analysis, documenting findings, and executing appropriate incident response activities to contain and mitigate risk
Analyze sensitive data movement and potential data loss events across the organization, identifying suspicious activity, policy violations, and emerging threats while ensuring timely escalation of high-priority incidents
Prepare clear, accurate, and comprehensive incident reports, maintaining detailed documentation and effectively communicating findings, recommendations, and status updates to stakeholders and team members
Manage multiple incidents and operational tasks simultaneously, exercising sound judgment to prioritize workloads, assess business impact, and escalate issues appropriately to ensure timely resolution
Operate independently with a good sense of ownership and accountability, making risk-based decisions, demonstrating attention to detail, and proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen data protection and security monitoring capabilities
Other highly valued skills include:
Leverage email, web-based technologies, and security platforms to effectively monitor, investigate, and communicate operational activities and security findings
Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders across all levels of the organization, providing clear, actionable communication on data protection risks, incidents, and remediation effort
Apply knowledge of data leakage threats, insider risk patterns, and data protection controls to identify potential exposures and recommend effective risk mitigation strategies aligned with security best practices
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role is located in our Whippany, NJ office.
Minimum Salary: $80,000
Maximum Salary: $120,000
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
