(Senior) Technical Project Manager

Job Description
What We're Building Towards
At Omegga, we're on a mission to reinvent how AI and spectroscopy can drive positive change for animals, people and the planet. We started with a clear objective: eliminate chick culling on a global scale through early, non-invasive detection. This outdated practice still impacts billions of lives, and we're here to change that. We're not building for the niche, we're building for the global standard.
Today, our systems are already in use, and the focus is on scaling performance, robustness, and deployment across an international customer base. For us, scaling means more than growth. It means changing an industry for the better.
We are looking for people who take ownership, think in systems, and want to help turn a working product into the industry benchmark. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a Technical Project Manager who runs our hardware development projects end to end and holds the thread between our engineers, our external partners, and our leadership. Our system combines optics, mechanics, electronics, and embedded control with machine learning on top. Most of what you manage is hardware, but every hardware decision touches software and data science, and you make sure those pieces move together.
Development happens in-house, but parts of it are outsourced to production partners and component suppliers. You keep those external work packages aligned with our internal timelines, specifications, and quality standards. Our Sales Engineering team owns the customer relationship; you make sure their requirements turn into delivered systems.
You take ownership end to end, hold yourself to a high standard, and focus on outcomes that matter for the customer. You communicate openly, give honest feedback, and build trust through your actions.
What You'll Build
Own the plan for our hardware development projects, from concept and prototypes to release for series production
Keep hardware, software, and data science development in sync: interfaces, test campaigns, integration milestones, and releases
Prioritize the integration backlog together with our tech leads and align it with customer commitments
Manage the outsourced parts of our development with production partners and component suppliers: scope, specifications, timelines, and quality
Integrate partner timelines into the overall project plan and resolve conflicts before they become blockers
Plan and coordinate system deployments together with Sales Engineering: installation scheduling, spare parts, and incident handling
Plan and monitor project budgets, track risks, and initiate corrective measures early
Deliver clear, regular reporting on milestones, trial outcomes, and project status to leadership
What You Bring
3 to 5 years of experience in technical project management in a hardware development environment: machinery, medtech, robotics, optics, or comparable
Solid understanding of hardware development, from prototyping to release for small series production
Experience coordinating outsourced development work with manufacturers or key suppliers
Enough understanding of software and data science to spot dependencies to the hardware and plan integration realistically
Experience with project budgets and risk tracking
Strong communication skills: you naturally become the connective tissue between engineers, partners, and leadership
A structured, hands-on working style and an affinity for using AI tools in your daily workflow
Fluent English. Fluent German is a strong plus for working with our partners and suppliers
Willingness to travel occasionally to our partners
Nice to have: experience with embedded systems, optics, or agile product ownership
Not ticking every box? That's okay. If this role excites you and you bring most of what we've described, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Get
Mission & Technical Challenge: At Omegga, you work on problems that are both technically demanding and globally relevant. We build deep-tech solutions with real-world impact, pushing the boundaries of what's currently possible.
Relocation Support: Moving to Munich? We help you find an apartment in the Werksviertel within walking distance of the office. We connect you with the right contacts and take the stress out of apartment hunting.
Work Environment: Located in Munich's Werksviertel, we combine a focused, high-performance culture with flexibility. Up to 50% remote work, depending on role and execution needs.
Ownership: VSOPs (Virtual Stock Options) so you share in the value you help create.
Time Off: 28 vacation days per year, plus December 24th and 31st off.
Benefits & Growth
Monthly meal budget for whatever keeps you going, from quick lunches to proper team dinners
Monthly perks budget to spend where it actually matters to you — fitness, mobility, or the occasional "I earned this" purchase
Annual learning budget to invest in your growth, from conferences to deep dives into new domains
Free drinks, coffee, and snacks in the office to keep you focused throughout the day
