Job Description

We are looking for a senior Database Architect to join the DevSecOps team at the European External Action Service (EEAS) in Brussels.

This is a high‑impact, on‑site role within a multicultural, international environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data modelling and database design (conceptual, logical, physical).

  • Reverse engineering of existing databases and integration across systems.

  • Development, maintenance, and integration of database components.

  • Integration of relational and NoSQL databases.

  • Creation of test programs and enforcement of best practices for naming conventions and coding standards.

  • Writing clear, structured technical documentation.

  • Support in deployment and configuration activities.

  • Troubleshooting, performance optimization, and technical audits.

  • Participation in technical and project meetings.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL.

  • Experience with NoSQL databases: MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB.

  • Knowledge of MQL and CQL.

  • Proven background in database architecture and master data management.

  • Experience with modelling tools such as SQL Developer Data Modeler, Hackolade, NoSQL Workbench.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

  • Experience with Atlassian tools, GitHub, ServiceNow.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences.

Conditions

  • Location: Brussels, on‑site at EEAS premises.

  • Seniority: Level 5 (11–15 years of relevant experience).

  • Requires Personal Security Clearance (PSC) up to SECRET UE (process initiated after acceptance).
