Collectors use our AI-powered card scanner, open their favorite chase cards with Instapacks, and keep track of them with our data-rich collection tools which showcases Pokémon, MTG, Lorcana, One Piece, and more. The Role

We're hiring a Fullstack Developer to help build the operations toolchain we use every day to manage our warehouse, inventory, and managing our Instapacks business.

You'll work closely with the CTO and engineering team to ship new tools and features for our operations team. This is a hands-on product engineering role for someone who loves solving logistic problems, has a background in GO and React, and wants to grow quickly inside a fast-moving startup.

You won't be handed endless tickets in a giant backlog. You'll work on real problems, learn from phenomenal backend engineers, and see your work go directly into the hands of passionate collectors.

What Success Looks Like

First 30 days: You get the various ops tools running locally, understand the core problems, and ship your first meaningful fixes or small features.

By day 90: You're regularly shipping features for our Ops team with support from the CTO and principal engineer. You can take a well-scoped feature or improvement, ask the right questions, implement it cleanly, test it, and get it into the team's hands.

By the end of year one: You've become the main point of contact for the most important part of our Instapack business. You've shipped meaningful improvements to our Ops toolchain, grown your Go and React craft, and earned ownership over increasingly business critical items.

What You'll Do

• Build and improve our Ops toolchain to help support our entire Warehouse and Logistics team.

• Fix bugs, improve bottlenecks, and raise the quality bar for Ops toolchain.

• Work closely with ops and engineering to increase efficiency to hard problems.

• Learn quickly, ask good questions, and communicate clearly when something is blocked, unclear, or ready for review.

A Day in Your Life at Rare Candy

You start the morning checking in with the warehouse team and reviewing feedback on a feature you shipped yesterday.

Mid-morning, you're pairing with other engineers on making improvements on various backend services.

After lunch, you're tightening up a dashboard, fixing an edge case, and testing the flow against real time operations.

Later in the day, you're in an operations discussion about how we want to launch a new game for Instapacks and how our toolchain needs to support it.

You close the day by opening a PR with a clear summary, and a note about what still needs review.

You Might Be a Fit If

• You have around 3-5 years of fullstack development experience with Go.

• You're comfortable building with React or other React frameworks.

• You've worked with GraphQL, or you have enough API experience to ramp quickly.

• You care about product quality and the little details that make tools easy to use and feel good.

• You have experience building internal tools and understand the importance of understanding the customer to build the right thing.

• You're comfortable in a fast-moving startup where priorities can shift and the best answer is often “figure it out, then make it better.”

• You know the trading-card or collector world. You collect, play, rip packs, follow the market, or have real fluency in a similar collectible space.
