Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Process Engineer is responsible for process development, optimization, qualification, and continuous improvement of substrate manufacturing processes to ensure stable, reliable, and high-quality output. Chemical, mechanical, and optical process parameters are monitored, analysed and optimized to achieve consistent substrate quality and performance. Process documentation, safety standards, and technician training are developed, while process projects, substrate characterization, and manufacturing capability development are supported.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process parameters are developed, optimized, and maintained to achieve consistent product quality and meet specification requirements.
  • Process troubleshooting and root cause analysis are performed on quality issues, yield losses, and process excursions.
  • New process development and qualification activities are planned and executed for new product introduction and technology transfers.
  • Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis are conducted to improve process capability and yield.
  • In-line and offline process monitoring data are collected, analyzed, and reviewed to identify trends and drive corrective actions.
  • Process, equipment, quality, and manufacturing teams are collaborated with to identify problems, develop solutions, and drive improvements.
  • New materials, chemicals, and process consumables are evaluated and qualified for manufacturing use.
  • FMEA activities are supported to identify potential process risks during new product introduction and process changes.
  • Corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans are developed, implemented, and tracked to closure.
  • SOPs, process specifications, safety procedures, environmental requirements, and HIRAC documentation are prepared and maintained.
  • Collaborate with Suppliers and external partners to evaluate and qualify new process materials and technologies.
  • Process improvement projects are supported to enhance manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and production capability.
  • AI and data analytics tools are leveraged as an advantage to enhance process monitoring, predictive analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

REQUIRED:

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Chemical engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering field.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant engineering qualifications are encouraged to apply.

PREFERRED:

  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in process engineering, materials characterization, or manufacturing processes
  • Good problem-solving, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and analytical skills related to process and quality issues
  • Experience or strong interest in AI, data analytics, machine learning applications in manufacturing, statistical process control (SPC), and new process technologies
