Position Overview

Join a team developing next-generation Thunderbolt 5 docking solutions that enable seamless connectivity and productivity experiences for commercial users worldwide. As a Docking Technology Software Firmware Engineer, you will drive the design, development, and optimization of embedded firmware that powers our docking platforms, working across MCU/SoC applications, hardware integration, and ODM collaboration. This role offers the opportunity to influence product architecture, solve complex technical challenges, and contribute to innovative connectivity solutions at global scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize embedded firmware for Thunderbolt 5 docking products and related connectivity platforms.

• Develop in-house MCU/SoC applications and firmware features using industry best practices and scalable software design methodologies.

• Partner closely with hardware engineering teams to define communication protocols, system states, and feature requirements while ensuring successful hardware-firmware integration.

• Collaborate with ODM partners and cross-functional teams throughout product development, validation, and commercialization activities.

• Investigate, debug, and resolve firmware issues, while participating in design reviews to improve product quality and reduce development risks.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and firmware development guidelines.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives through test automation and CI/CD pipeline enhancements.

• Share technical knowledge and provide guidance to less-experienced engineers through code reviews and engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.

• 10+ years of experience in embedded software and firmware development.

• Strong programming skills in C and experience developing firmware for Embedded Systems.

• Hands-on experience with MCU and/or SoC platforms, Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), and firmware debugging.

• Familiarity with common hardware communication protocols and version control systems such as Git.

• Fluent in both English and Mandarin.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing firmware for docking stations, Thunderbolt, USB Type-C, USB4, or related connectivity products.

• Proficiency in C++, Python, and Embedded Linux development environments.

• Experience working with ODM/OEM partners throughout product development and product lifecycle management.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline automation, automated testing frameworks, and software development best practices.
