Job Description

About the Role

This is the first US hire for a well-funded open-source MLOps and AI agent infrastructure startup, reporting directly to the founding team. You will own the San Francisco presence and go-to-market motion end-to-end, sitting at the intersection of community building, technical evangelism, and growth. The role exists to turn community signals into pipeline and reputation into measurable outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Build and host a recurring ML infrastructure meetup in San Francisco from the ground up, growing it into a must-attend event for the local community.

  • Represent the company credibly and technically at AI and ML infrastructure meetups, hackathons, and conferences across the Valley.

  • Act as a connector, turning conversations into relationships and relationships into pipeline.

  • Create and ship technical content including talks, blog posts, social posts, and demo videos informed by real community signals.

  • Demo a Python-based open-source framework live in front of engineering audiences and hold your own on technical questions.

  • Instrument community and event engagement using tools like Mixpanel, GitHub, a CRM, and enrichment platforms to build automated, traceable follow-up workflows.

  • Feed product and GTM teams with intelligence on what practitioners are building, evaluating, and frustrated by in the SF AI and ML ecosystem.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years in DevRel, community building, growth, or developer-facing GTM, preferably at an early-stage or resource-constrained startup rather than a large enterprise.

  • Proficiency with Python, including the ability to demo a framework live, read production code, work with APIs, and troubleshoot in front of engineers.

  • Hands-on experience building and instrumenting community engagement funnels using modern GTM tools such as a CRM, enrichment platforms, and automation or LLM-based workflows.

  • Track record of designing and running recurring events with documented attendance growth and measurable engagement outcomes.

  • Experience integrating product usage signals, GitHub activity, and CRM data into automated workflows for lead scoring and follow-up.

  • Proven ability to translate technical product capabilities into compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Existing network in the SF AI, ML infrastructure, or MLOps community and a visible personal brand through talks, events, or online presence.

  • Familiarity with open-source community dynamics, product-led growth motions, and the MLOps, LLMOps, or agent infrastructure landscape.

  • Self-directed and comfortable owning an initiative end-to-end with minimal oversight.
