Job Description
Why Harvey
At Harvey, we’re transforming how legal and professional services operate. By combining frontier agentic AI, an enterprise-grade platform, and deep domain expertise, we’re reshaping how critical knowledge work gets done for decades to come.
This is a rare chance to help build a generational company at a true inflection point. We have strong product-market fit and world-class investor support. We’re scaling fast and defining a new category in real time. The work is ambitious, the bar is high, and the opportunity for growth — personal, professional, and financial — is unmatched.
Our team moves fast, takes ownership, and is deeply committed to the mission — operating with intensity, staying close to our customers, and pushing each other for excellence. We live by three values: Decisiveness, Simplicity, and Job's Not Finished. We act quickly on clear judgment over perfect information, we believe simplicity is what scales, and we're never satisfied with where we are. If you want to do the best work of your career alongside people who share that drive, we'd love to build with you.
At Harvey, the future of professional services is being written today — and we’re just getting started.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a Senior People Systems Analyst to own and scale the systems and workflows that support Harvey’s growing global workforce. This role will primarily focus on Workday HCM, owning the design, configuration, testing, and continuous improvement of complex business processes. You’ll also be the go-to systems expert for Benefits and our Applicant Tracking System (Ashby). That means leading feature evaluation, solution design, configuration, root-cause troubleshooting, and end-to-end testing.
You’ll partner closely with People Operations, Benefits, Recruiting, Payroll, Finance, Legal, and Corporate IT to turn business needs into scalable, intuitive, and well-governed system solutions. The ideal candidate is an experienced, hands-on systems professional who works independently from requirements through deployment, brings a clear point of view on how to solve problems, and influences stakeholders toward durable, scalable outcomes.
What You'll Do
Own the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Workday HCM, including complex business processes, condition rules, approval routing, notifications, security assignments, and worker lifecycle workflows.
Lead solution design end to end: translate ambiguous business needs into system solutions, assess downstream impacts across HCM, Benefits, Payroll, reporting, integrations, and employee experience, and bring recommendations to critical decision points.
Serve as the subject-matter expert for Benefits systems, owning plan configuration, eligibility rules, enrollment workflows, vendor integrations, annual enrollment readiness, issue resolution, and process improvements.
Support Recruiting Systems and administration which includes integrations, and data quality.
Advise senior stakeholders on system capabilities, new features, configuration tradeoffs, and opportunities to simplify or automate manual processes. Explain complex topics clearly and persuasively.
Define and drive testing strategy across Workday, Benefits, Ashby, and connected systems, including workflow, regression, release, and user acceptance testing.
Diagnose complex or unusual system and data issues by tracing configuration, business rules, integrations, and upstream and downstream dependencies. Identify root causes and put durable fixes in place rather than one-off workarounds.
Lead enhancement projects from discovery through deployment with People Operations, Benefits, Recruiting, Payroll, Finance, Legal, and IT, including gathering requirements, documenting options, and prioritizing work.
Set the standard for configuration documentation, test plans, process maps, release notes, and operational procedures that support governance and team self-service.
Proactively monitor system health and data integrity, lead audit and reconciliation support, and uphold security and data governance practices for employee and candidate data.
Lead Workday and vendor release management: evaluate new functionality, assess impact, coordinate testing, and drive adoption decisions.
Act as a resource for peers and stakeholders on complex or challenging systems questions, sharing knowledge and best practices across the team.
What You Have
5+ years of hands-on experience configuring and supporting Workday, an HRIS, or related enterprise business systems.
Deep experience with Workday HCM configuration and the Business Process Framework, including condition rules, approval routing, notifications, security, and workflow design.
Proven ability to independently design and deliver complex, cross-system workflows, using sound judgment to know when a decision needs broader review.
A track record of owning projects that improved workflows, reduced manual effort, or introduced new tools or automation.
Strong experience turning ambiguous business requirements into system solutions, often with limited information, and explaining technical tradeoffs persuasively to non-technical and senior audiences.
Experience defining and running testing strategies, including regression, UAT, defect triage, data validation, and production change management.
Solid working knowledge of Benefits administration or Benefits systems, including eligibility, enrollment, plan configuration, vendor feeds, and annual enrollment.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes across systems, processes, integrations, and data.
Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills, adapting your style to different audiences.
Ability to manage competing priorities independently, make well-reasoned recommendations, and operate effectively in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
Bonus Points
Workday certification or Workday Pro certification in HCM, Benefits, or a related area.
Experience with Workday integrations, EIBs, reports, calculated fields, or APIs.
Experience supporting recruiting system integrations with Workday or other people systems.
Experience with Workday Benefits, Absence, Compensation, Payroll, or Recruiting-related processes.
Experience supporting global HR systems, multiple worker populations, or international expansion.
Experience leading the evaluation and adoption of new Workday or HR technology features.
Experience with security configuration, role-based access, audit readiness, or data governance.
Experience mentoring or guiding other systems analysts or administrators.
Experience working at a high-growth technology company.
How You’ll Make an Impact
In this role, you’ll own key parts of Harvey’s people systems foundation and help make sure it is reliable, scalable, and easy to use. You’ll improve the employee and candidate experience by removing manual work, strengthening data quality, and helping People teams operate with greater confidence. Your expertise will shape how HCM, Benefits, and recruiting workflows evolve as Harvey grows, and you’ll set the standards for how we design, test, and govern changes to our systems.
Compensation
$136,000 - $204,000 USD
