Job Description
About the Role
This is the execution-focused side of a Forward Deployed Engineering function at an early-stage fintech building global identity infrastructure for businesses. You'll serve as the technical bridge between customers and the product team — owning implementations end-to-end, from scoping requirements to resolving integration issues in production.
What You'll Do
Partner directly with customers to scope technical requirements early in the implementation process.
Act as the primary technical point of contact for integrations, onboarding, and product rollouts.
Troubleshoot integration issues in production environments and guide customers toward scalable, long-term solutions.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify and reduce friction in implementation flows.
Improve documentation, tooling, and internal processes to make future implementations faster and more repeatable.
What We're Looking For
4–5+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as field engineering, solutions engineering, technical support, or implementation delivery.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting and resolving integration issues in production environments.
Proficiency with modern web application stacks and APIs (REST, webhooks, or event-driven architectures).
Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, or JavaScript in production environments.
Comfort working with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and understanding data modeling for integrations.
Experience documenting technical processes, APIs, or implementation guides for customer-facing audiences.
Track record of influencing product decisions based on customer feedback in cross-functional teams.
Domain expertise in compliance (KYB/KYC/AML) is the strongest differentiating signal for this role.
Former Product Owners or Managers from fintech who led onboarding or KYC workflows are also actively considered.
Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ), or cloud platforms (AWS or similar) is a plus.
Clear, concise communicator who can translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
No visa sponsorship available.
Compensation & Benefits
This role uses a transparent, fixed leveling system — there are no individual salary negotiations; everyone at the same level earns the same. The starting level for this role is approximately €93,000 base annually, with the next level at approximately €116,000 and an upper ceiling around €146,000. Level jumps are intentionally large.
Location
Fully remote within European timezones; being based in or near Amsterdam, Netherlands is a strong advantage. The team gathers in person every six weeks for a company-wide collaboration week.
