Senior Product Manager

About the Role

Payments are a core driver of ChargePoint’s revenue, trust, and global scalability, accelerating our mission to make EV charging ubiquitous and convenient. As the Product Manager for Payments Operations & Processor Management, you will take deep operational ownership of our global payment processing relationships, dispute workflows, and settlement reconciliation. This is a highly visible role offering direct impact on revenue integrity, margin optimization, and customer trust as you help power the world’s leading EV charging network.

What You Will Be Doing

Working in close partnership with our Campbell headquarters, you will ensure that processor relationships run smoothly, chargebacks are managed effectively, and settlement data is accurately reconciled. You will sit at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Security, and Operations to track payments performance and support strategic decision-making. Over time, you will expand your strategic influence over processor selection, fraud prevention, and overall payments product direction, resolving complex processing issues alongside global Payments Engineering teams.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint (Responsibilities)

  • Manage the end-to-end chargeback lifecycle across global card brands and European acquirers, tracking cases, submitting representments, and monitoring dispute win rates and loss exposure.
  • Reconcile processor settlement files against internal transaction records, identifying discrepancies, orphaned authorizations, and ensuring accurate funding and fee accounting.
  • Partner with processors, gateways, and acquirers as the primary operational contact, driving issue resolution, contract renewals, and relationship health.
  • Analyze and report on payments economics, including transaction fees, interchange costs, fraud losses, and chargeback exposure across currencies and regions.
  • Build analytical models alongside Finance to support unit economics analysis, refund capacity, and multi-currency cash flow projections.
  • Collaborate with global Payments Engineering teams to triage, prioritize, and author technical tickets for payment processing defects and incident resolution.
  • Translate complex regulatory, security, and financial constraints into clear product requirements and delivery plans for Engineering.
  • Support fraud prevention strategies by monitoring key performance indicators, evaluating detection tooling, and ensuring PCI DSS compliance alongside Security and Risk teams.
  • Coordinate cross-functional execution of payments initiatives, clearly communicating risks, performance metrics, and trade-offs to senior leadership.
  • Maintain overlap hours with U.S. Pacific Time to facilitate seamless cross-functional coordination, ticket grooming, and sprint planning.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in product management, payments operations, or financial operations with direct ownership of payment processing workflows and dispute management.
  • Deep understanding of card networks, acquirers, tokenization, fraud typologies, chargeback lifecycles, and PCI DSS compliance.
  • Demonstrated expertise in multi-currency payment operations, particularly across European markets (EU/UK).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data manipulation at scale for financial analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Proven ability to manage payment processor and vendor relationships, including issue escalation and deadline management.
  • Experience collaborating with distributed engineering teams using ticketed workflows (e.g., Jira) to define and resolve product defects.
  • Strong capability to operate autonomously as an individual contributor, influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PSPs and processors used in EV charging, IoT payments, mobility, or high-volume SaaS platforms.
  • Hands-on expertise parsing and reconciling processor settlement files, such as fixed-width flat files or batch reports.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, SQL, or similar) for data extraction, transformation, and reconciliation automation.
  • Familiarity with machine learning-driven fraud detection tools and chargeback representment workflows across major card networks.
  • Track record of driving cost optimization or margin expansion initiatives.
